We want to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who came to camp for our Spring Work Weekend that took place April 24 - 26. Thank you to all of our incredible volunteers from helping in the kitchen to felling trees and braving the cold pond to install a water pump!

Work weekends are a valuable time for us at camp. They are not only a time to get important task completed around the property, they are also an excuse for us to spend time with our wonderful community!

If you are looking for a way to give back (and want to spend a weekend at camp), our next work weekend is October 30 - November 1. It's never too early to put it in your calendar (or signup!)

Happy Pride! Silver Lake strives to be a place of inclusion for all, and we’re so grateful for everything we learn about inclusion, hospitality, and creativity from the LGBTQIA+ members of our camp community! Pride season reminds us to give thanks and celebrate the diversity among us. We also remember all of the places and people in our world that need more love, understanding, and freedom of self-expression. Let’s keep living that song we sing around so many campfires in our special SLMC way, “It’s a song about the love between my brothers and my sisters - and my siblings! - all over this land.”

With both sadness and gratitude, we remember three beloved members of our Silver Lake Mennonite Camp family: Marianne Enns, Viola Wallace, and Margaret “Margie” Steingart. Each gave generously through years of kitchen volunteering, baking, fundraising, and faithful support—making camp a place of hospitality, joy, and generations of connection. Their love for Silver Lake and the community they helped build will not be forgotten. 💛
