**I wear my heart on my sleeve…

“Because a matriarch carries the love, strength and stories of every generation - including the little ones who live forever in our hearts.” 🤍

Created in collaboration with Awasis Boutique, the Matriarch Crewneck honours the women who carry their families - their stories, their strength, their love, and every little life that will always belong.

Wear something that means something while helping Empty Arms continue to surround families navigating pregnancy, infant, and child loss.

Why can’t I remember anything? Why can’t I focus? Why does everything feel… foggy? 🤍

Grief doesn’t only live in our hearts. It can affect our brains, our bodies, our memory, our concentration, and the way we move through everyday life.

Join us for Making Sense of the Fog: Grief & The Brain, a Virtual grief therapy session facilitated by Breland Counselling & Consulting.

Together, we’ll explore what happens neurologically when we experience profound grief and trauma—and why some of the things you may be experiencing are very real, very physical responses to loss.

Understanding what is happening in our brains won’t make the grief disappear. But sometimes, understanding *why* we feel the way we do can make it a little easier to navigate.

And because this session is virtual, you can join us from wherever you feel most comfortable. 🤍

You might sit in your car for ten minutes before coming inside.

You might worry you’ll cry - or that you won’t. You might wonder what you’re supposed to say, whether your loss “fits,” or if it’s been too long.

Here’s what we want you to know: there is no right (or wrong) way to show up. 🤍

At an Empty Arms peer support group, you can talk, cry, laugh, or simply listen. You don’t need to explain why it still hurts. You don’t need to compare your grief to anyone else’s. And you never have to pretend you’re okay.

You may not leave feeling fixed.

But you might leave feeling a little less alone.

Our peer support groups are free, and you’re welcome whether your loss was recent or many years ago. Come once, come often, and come exactly as you are.

Visit our website to find a group that feels right for you.

🧡 Beading, Bannock & Belonging — September 9

Come as you are. Sit with us. Create, connect, share some bannock, and spend time in community.

There is no expectation to talk about grief or loss. You can share, listen, laugh, create, or just be. 🤍

🌸 September’s Flower — Morning Glory

Morning glories bloom with the sunrise, opening their petals to the light before gently closing as the day passes.

Because of their fleeting blooms, morning glories have long been associated with love, remembrance, and the preciousness of a life that may be brief, but deeply meaningful.

For families who have experienced pregnancy, infant, or child loss, that symbolism feels especially tender.

A little life does not have to be long to leave a lasting mark. 🤍

This September, we remember the babies and children whose time here was far too short — and the love for them that continues to grow, season after season.

🌸 If Morning Glory is your little one’s birth flower, we would be honoured to remember them with you. Share their name in the comments, or simply leave a 🤍 if you’d like us to hold them in our thoughts this month.
