Check out our October Blog here thanks to Carol Thomson

Every month I relish visiting the Saskatoon Zoo at least once to observe the animals and see what they are doing in all the seasons. I have learned about Pallas’s Cats which until I began this blog, I never even knew existed and now I am obsessed with them. We have one at the Zoo, …

364 days a year means there’s almost always time for a zoo day. 🐾

This fall and winter, the Saskatoon Forestry Farm Park & Zoo is open from 10 a.m.–4 p.m., with December 25 being the only day it closes.

So grab a jacket, see what the animals are up to and enjoy a day at the zoo! 🍂

And when you visit, you’re also supporting the Saskatoon Zoo Foundation and helping us continue investing in the animals and projects that make a difference at the zoo all year long. 💚

On behalf of the Saskatoon Zoo Foundation Board of Directors, Jill and Dawn, we want to extend our heartfelt thank you to Jeff Mitchell for everything he has done for the Saskatoon Zoo and our community over the past 6½ years.

During Jeff’s time with the zoo, the Foundation was able to invest more than $3 million into projects that have made a lasting difference and will benefit our community for generations to come. That includes:

🦋 The new Prairie Butterfly House
🦓 A new home for the zebras
🐾 The award-winning Prairie Dog Exhibit
🐾 Renovations to the Small Mammal House
📚 The Affinity Learning Centre
♿ An accessible pier
🐈 A new home for the bobcats
🐐 The Pygmy Goat renovation
🪑 The Bench Program
🚂 The new Kinsmen II electric train

These accomplishments are a testament to Jeff’s vision, passion, dedication and knowledge, and to the tremendous difference one person can make when they truly believe in the future of the zoo.

Jeff has been such an important part of the Saskatoon Zoo’s story, and his impact will be felt for many years to come. He will be missed by so many of us, both personally and professionally.

It has been an honour to work alongside Jeff and to be part of building a brighter future for our zoo and our community.

We wish you all the very best in your new endeavour, Jeff. Thank you for everything — your shoes will be incredibly hard to fill. ❤️
