πŸ’œπŸ’œ Thank you for your patience, NISeeU community πŸ’œπŸ’œ

πŸ’œ We know it’s been quiet since our last meeting in January, and we appreciate everyone’s understanding and continued support.

πŸ’œ We are currently working on securing a new meeting location, as we will no longer be meeting at the Saskatoon Early Years Resource Centre.

πŸ’œ We’ll also be sharing a poll soon to gather feedback on the best days and times to meet.

πŸ’œ Exciting updates are on the way β€” including new dates, times, and a new space to gather. Our next meeting is planned for late March. More details coming soon! ✨

So sweet seeing our mamas and babies connecting πŸ’œ NISeeU is more than a groupβ€”it’s a space to sit on the floor, let babies play, build friendships, and support one another through motherhood. Watching these little ones grow together (and us too) is so special.

πŸ’œJoin us for our January Monthly Meeting!πŸ’œ

πŸ’œ We’re so excited to welcome Michele who is one of the mama founders of NISeeU, a proud mom of two teens, and an IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant).

πŸ’œ Originally from Guatemala, Michele holds a Master’s in Public Health and a PhD in Epidemiology, and has extensive experience supporting mothers and babies through NICU care and beyond. She has worked in the NICU of one of Guatemala’s largest hospitals and supported families in rural and remote communities across Central America.

πŸ’œ Michele will be sharing her expertise on breastfeeding and solid feeding during and after the NICU, infant nutrition, and common feeding challenges NICU babies may experience.

πŸ’œ This will be an open, supportive conversation, with time for moms to ask questions and talk through any concerns they may have.

πŸ’œπŸ’œWorld Prematurity Day πŸ’œπŸ’œ

πŸ’œ Today we honour the tiniest fighters and the strongest families.

πŸ’œ From the long nights, to the brave first breaths, to the milestones that felt impossible β€” our community knows this journey deeply.

πŸ’œTo every NICU parent, past and present: you’re seen, you’re supported, and you’re never alone. πŸ’œ

πŸ’œ To the NICU mom who has a maternity leave coming to an end β€” we see you. πŸ’œ

πŸ’œ The clock keeps ticking while you’re still in the NICU β€” a cruel reminder that the world moves on, even when yours is standing still. You’ve spent your leave watching monitors, not milestones. You’ve held your baby less than you ever imagined, and it’s not fair.

But please remember:
πŸ’œ You’ve spent your leave beside hospital walls, not nursery walls.
πŸ’œ You are still a devoted, incredible mom β€” no matter the timeline.
πŸ’œ It’s okay to grieve what you’ve lost and still hope for what’s ahead.
πŸ’œ Your baby knows your love β€” that doesn’t run out when time does.

πŸ’œ You’ve done what only the bravest mothers do β€” love fiercely through the hardest start.

πŸ’œ Love, a fellow NICU mom who’s walked the path you’re on now πŸ’œ

πŸ’œπŸ’œ We had a wonderful first meeting at our new SEYFRC East location! πŸ’œπŸ’œ

πŸ’œ A huge thank you to Jill from .slp who answered all our burning questions with a focus on feeding our little babies and toddlers. We also talked about some of the unique experiences mamas may face with feeding their NICU babies.

πŸ’œ So thankful to for the beautiful space we can use for our monthly meetings!

πŸ’œ Hope to see you at our next one on December 6th..stay tuned for more details πŸ’œ

πŸ’œ To the NICU mom who struggles to feel bonded β€” we see you. πŸ’œ

πŸ’œ You imagined an instant rush of love. Instead, it’s been fear, distance, and glass walls between you. The guilt creeps in β€” Shouldn’t I feel more connected?

Please hear this:
πŸ’œ Love can grow slowly β€” and that’s still love.
πŸ’œ You’ve been through trauma, not failure.
πŸ’œ Connection comes in quiet, gentle moments β€” and it will come.
πŸ’œ You are still your baby’s safe place, even when it doesn’t feel like it.

πŸ’œ You are learning to love in a storm β€” and that kind of love takes root deep. Give yourself grace. The bond is growing, even if you can’t feel it yet.

πŸ’œ Love, a fellow NICU mom who’s walked the path you’re on now πŸ’œ
