Answering your nutrition questions has never been so easy!
Eating healthy foods should be easy right? Unfortunately that is far from the truth. Anyone who has ever tried to decode nutrition messages on food packages or search the grocery isles for healthy foods their kids will actually eat, will know that choosing to eat healthy is no easy task. With a huge variety of foods and methods of preparing them, there is a vast middle group between junk foods and fruits and vegetables. Not to mention that choosing unhealthy options can often be cheaper and more convenient.
Some fad diets tell you to minimize your carbohydrate intake, and some tell you to fill up on protein or fat. You may watch TV ads that tell you juice is a healthy choice for kids, but then read how even 100% juice is full of sugar. You may choose diet pop to limit blood sugar spikes with diabetes or to help limit calories, only to later hear from a friend that aspartame causes cancer. You may also pay a visit to a non regulated nutrition professional who recommends removing all gluten from your diet or insists GMO’s are the cause of your latest ailment.
What is the answer?
The misinformation on the internet, from peers, media and from the non regulated nutrition industry makes it almost impossible to know what to eat! It is our mission to help put a stop to nutrition fads and false promises and provide a hub for reliable information you can trust in Saskatchewan.
