Interior Designers Association of Saskatchewan The role of the IDAS is to administer ‘The Interior Designers Act’ (1995. c.1.10.02.s.3) on behalf of the Province of Saskatchewan.

The Interior Designers Association of Saskatchewan (IDAS) is a professional, non-profit organization, which represents and regulates Interior Design practitioners in Saskatchewan. To conduct the affairs of the profession of Interior Design within the province of Saskatchewan as set out in the Act in areas of professional standards, regulatory compliance, ethics and continuing education to acquire

and maintain professional standing of members. In addition to being a resource of information, IDAS supports its members through providing networking opportunities, mentoring, continuing education, professional and legislative advocacy, and by upholding the industry’s highest standards of professionalism. IDAS endeavours to serve the interests of the public by registering only the designers who meet an established standard of experience. In June of 1997, IDAS earned titles legislation, which protects the title of “Interior Designer”. All practitioners using the title of Interior Designer must have graduated from a recognized college or university interior design program and have seven years combined education and work experience. They must have also passed the National Council for Interior Design Qualification Exam (NCIDQ), the international standard examination for Interior Designers. The IDAS aids in advancing the Interior Designer profession within the organization and within the province and industry.
