Multifaith Saskatoon Expresses Solidarity with Jewish Community Following Australia Attack
SASKATOON — Rashid Ahmed, President of Multifaith Saskatoon, along with board members Bala Raju, Mandeep Sethi, Len Rempel, and Noe Hernandez, visited Congregation Agudas Israel in Saskatoon to express solidarity and condolences following the recent terrorist attack affecting the Jewish community in Australia.
During the visit, the delegation met with Rabbi Claudio Jodorkovsky and conveyed heartfelt sympathies to the victims, their families, and all those impacted by the violence. The representatives emphasized their support for the local Jewish community and reaffirmed their commitment to standing against acts of terrorism, hatred, and violence.
Rashid Ahmed, speaking on behalf of Multifaith Saskatoon, stated that attacks on innocent people and communities—regardless of where they occur—violate fundamental human values of peace, compassion, and dignity. He added that the thoughts and prayers of Multifaith Saskatoon are with the people of Australia and Jewish communities worldwide during this difficult time.
The visit reflected Multifaith Saskatoon’s continued dedication to promoting unity, understanding, and mutual respect among faith communities. Leaders emphasized that moments of tragedy call for solidarity across religious and cultural lines, reinforcing the shared responsibility to stand together against hate, violence, and extremism in all its forms.
