Yup it was 2018 when alumni started to get involved.

It was driven by alumni wanting to increase the bond between SAGA and the Agros and we couldn’t think of a better event then the bedpush.

The students bring the energy and attitude and the alumni bring the contacts, financial support and “stories”.

Thanks to all past alumni who have helped over the years either as past students, alumni pushing the bed, taking pics or helping with fundraising (for those alumni who are running challenged).

Hopefully this is an event SAGA can stay involved with for years to come.

In 1982, the University of Saskatchewan Agricultural Students Association (the Agros) increased their fundraising efforts for TeleMiracle by pushing a bedframe on bike wheels across Saskatchewan. This became known as the Bedpush. 🛌🫷⁠

Over 45 years the Agros have raised more than $1,000,000 for TeleMiracle cumulatively with their Bedpush fundraiser.⁠

Sounds like all those that attended the Saskatchewan Agricultural Hall of Fame event on the weekend enjoyed the evening.

What a great retirement party tonight for one of our 85C alumni Paul McAllister at The Armoury Brewery in North Battleford.

Paul has had a long career with BASF and finished a career he should be proud of……Respected by many.

All the best to you Paul in your next adventures in life.

Distinguished Graduate Award

Established in 2027, this is a joint award presented by the Saskatchewan Agricultural Graduates Association (SAGA) and the University of Saskatchewan College of Agriculture and Bioresources. It recognizes outstanding alumni for significant professional or personal achievements that contribute positively to society. It serves to highlight the meaningful impact our graduates make across diverse disciplines and communities

Distinguished Young Graduate Award

Established in 2027, this is a joint award presented by the Saskatchewan Agricultural Graduates Association and the University of Saskatchewan College of Agriculture and Bioresources. This award celebrates early-career graduates whose accomplishments
demonstrate notable promise to make a meaningful and lasting contribution to society.

Agricultural Students' Association are running an online clothing store right now and we thought alumni might be interested.

Realizing full well that some of you might need to update your wardrobe or get a size smaller 😀.

Details:

The deadline for orders is March 15 at 11:59pm.

Unless you plan on picking up at the Agro lounge you have to click the deliver to button and they can get it shipped to you.

Edit: maybe get it shipped either way as no one may be in the lounge with orders arriving the third week of exams

They also have flags in case you are looking for an Agro flag for a combine…..

What a night! The Agricultural Students' Association blow the doors off their previous high total, and the SAGA phone crew came through great. The team covered a span of 47 years, with Ag grads from 1977 thru 2024. While apprehensive at the start (we were in the ‘hot row’ ie calls hit us first) it turned out to be alarmingly a lot of fun! It’s going to be hard to wrestle this group out of the role the next time around💥 Thanks to Bayley Moses 2017C and TeleMiracle PR czar as well as Derek Moses 2017C for keeping us straight in the back areas!
