For the past five years, SARC has been participating in and promoting the national Light It Up! For NDEAM (National Disability Employment Awareness Month) campaign. This years Light It Up! For NDEAM will take place on Thursday, October 15th.

Last year, SARC ranked first amongst all participating provinces for locations lit up and we need your help to stay on top. Our SARC Members can help us to light up the Saskatchewan sky and show how brightly we can shine for inclusive employment on the night of October 15th! We encourage you all to get local business and municipalities to join you in lighting up. Together we can once again show the rest of Canada how brightly Saskatchewan can shine!

Ready to join us in lighting up on October 15th? Send an email to [email protected] with your name, community, and the addresses of the buildings/structures being lit up on October 15th.

We look forward to the Saskatchewan sky brightly shining in hues of purple and blue on Thursday, October 15th.

SARC's EmployLink pilot project is underway! This 12-month pilot, delivered in partnership with the Ministry of Immigration and Career Training, is aimed at strengthening employment outcomes for people experiencing disability through the strategic deployment of resources in underserved regions of Saskatchewan, targeting CBO capacity building, and enhanced employer engagement. The target area for this pilot is northern Saskatchewan.

The key activities of the EmployLink pilot include:
▪ Consulting with and coaching CBOs on supported employment best practices
▪ Engaging with and supporting employers
▪ Providing training for CBOs and employers
▪ Helping strengthen connections between CBOs and employers

What does this mean for SARC Members?
Regular and Associate Members in SARC's North Region can contact the EmployLink pilot team for consultation and coaching services on all aspects of supported employment. The EmployLink team may also reach out to your organization to discuss the services and supports available through the pilot.

In addition, all SARC Regular and Associate Members continue to have unlimited access to the Supported Employment Success (SES) online training program at no cost to support staff learning on supported employment best practices and processes.

SARC Learning Central’s Building a Strong Board: From Recruitment to Succession will provide an understanding of how to prepare for board director transitions while ensuring continuity and confidence during periods of change.

This 3-hour in-person session is meant for boards of directors and executive directors in the nonprofit sector.
