It was a pleasure to host the Canadian College of Funeral Services at the IAS for an educational session on Islam and Muslim funerals. We are grateful to work with community partners who provide valuable services to all communities.

*What an incredible day!* A massive thank you to the over 1,400 community members who joined us today for the IAS Eid Festival 2026.

Your presence made the atmosphere truly special, and it was wonderful to see so many families enjoying the day together.
It was a joy to see everyone taking advantage of the activities and enjoying the delicious food.

From the bouncy castles and treats to connecting with our local community partners, the day was a resounding success thanks to all of you.

Thousands gathered at Prairieland Park for communal prayers, celebration and reflection. Rows of worshippers, young and old, bowed together in prayer while families dressed in vibrant traditional clothing from around the world filled the hall. Organized by Islamic Associations of Saskatchewan Saskatoon Inc.

Eid al-Adha marks the culmination of Hajj and commemorates the story of Prophet Abraham and his family which are figures revered in Islam for their faith, sacrifice, and perseverance.“It’s one of the two biggest celebrations in the Islamic calendar. It’s really special for everyone to be here today to participate,” Fatima Coovadia said.

“You’ll be able to see people from all sorts of backgrounds and every different walk of life, every corner of the world, a dozen different languages being spoken at the same time,” Syed Mueez Rafiquie said.
