🤼‍♂️ Congratulations to Terry Johnson on his induction into the 2026 Saskatoon Sports Hall of Fame! 🏆

From his days at Evan Hardy Collegiate to a standout career with the U of S Huskies, Terry was a powerhouse on the mat—a 4x Canada West champion, 2x national silver medalist, and international competitor.

His impact goes far beyond his victories: 🤼 15+ years coaching the Saskatoon Wrestling Club’s Pups division 🤼 20+ years with the Saskatchewan Wrestling Association 🤼 30+ years building and supporting the Saskatoon Wrestling Club

Ready to step up your coaching game? Join us for the Saskatchewan Community Coach Course in Saskatoon! Whether you’re just starting out or looking to stay credentialed, this course will equip you with the skills to support and lead your athletes.

Sask Wrestling extends our deepest condolences to the Hoffert family, Lucas’s friends, teammates, and all who loved him.

Lucas began his journey at age six with the Saskatoon Wrestling Club, later joining Regina’s Cattown Wrestling Club. He grew into an elite athlete, representing Canada at the 2012 Cadet World Championships, earning silver at the 2013 Canada Summer Games and 2015 Junior Pan Am Championships, and capturing national junior silver in Greco and Freestyle. A 2-time Canada West gold medalist and 3-time silver medalist, he captained the University of Regina team from 2014–2018, capping his U SPORTS career with a silver medal.

Off the mat, Lucas was a three-time Academic All-Canadian, earning an Academic Silver Scholarship, the ACS Award for Analytical Chemistry, and the U of R President’s Award. He went on to become a family physician in AB and BC, bringing his dedication and heart to every community he served.

Fiercely competitive yet remarkably humble, kind, and always smiling, Lucas embodied everything Sask Wrestling strives to inspire. We are immensely proud he represented our province. His legacy will never be forgotten.
