Four members attended the October 6, 2026 meeting of Bridgers Toastmasters. We also had two online guests, one who has been in Canada for only two weeks and the other who was in the Philippines. Robin gave an engaging 13-minute speech from level 5 in his Presentation Mastery Pathway, reflecting on his Toastmasters journey. When Robin asked, "What do you want to get out of Toastmasters?" he related his own experiences. Next, our VP Education, Tass, gave out five wonderful table topics related to the meeting theme of Thanksgiving. We learned that our newest member, Calvin, is thankful for Google Maps helping him catch the bus. If he could have anyone he wanted to attend his Thanksgiving dinner, Luis said that he would invite his late grandmother. Near the end of the meeting, Calvin quizzed us to see how well we were listening. Toastmasters is about energy, laughter, and learning in a safe environment where we can make mistakes. Three members of Bridgers Toastmasters Club met on September 29, 2026. We had a guest who helped out as the timer. Tass gave a level five online speech entitled "Leadership Beyond Title," using Saskatoon philanthropist Merlis Belsher as an example of an inspiring leader. She ended with a quote: “A person who is worthy of being a leader wants power not for himself, but to be of service.” Being able to share the screen on Zoom enabled Tass to show slides easily on the big screen in our meeting room. Lisa was the speech evaluator. Lisa was also Table Topics master, giving out six upbeat topics that used our theme "Law of Attraction." On the days you focus on gratitude and positive energy, opportunities suddenly seem to fall right into our lap. Our guest says he loves the polite drivers in Saskatoon and enjoys the polite greetings of residents in our city. Toastmasters is about energy, laughter, and learning in a safe environment where we can make mistakes. Come and join us for our next meeting on Tuesday, October 6.

Four members of Bridgers Toastmasters Club met on September 22, 2026. Club Coach David was a guest. We had two others guests, including Ramiro with us online from the Philippines. Tonny was our online Toastmaster. Our theme was "Eureka Moment" and word of the day was "consider." Terry gave a 12-minute level five speech "Three Financial Moves that Will Change Your Future" as he explained how to build a defensive foundation, save automatically and reduce fees. Robin provided four table topics. Congratulations to Marcus who was voted best table topic speaker as he explained how he used to eat lots of smarties but had a Eureka Moment and hired a personal trainer to get in shape. Toastmasters is about energy, laughter and learning in a safe environment where we are allowed to make mistakes. Come and join us for our next meeting on Tuesday, September 29.

Five members of Bridgers Toastmasters Club met on September 15, 2026. Club Coach David was our guest. Tass was our Toastmaster. Our theme was "Trial and Error" and word of the day was "empirical." James and Tonny attended via Zoom, appearing on the big screen in the room. Tonny gave a speech "Reigniting Our Spark" as he encouraged club members to work together. Toastmasters is about energy, laughter and learning in a safe environment where we are allowed to make mistakes. James provided five table topics. David was voted best table topic speaker as he explained how he learned to get better at the video game, Terra Invicta, by trial and error. Come and join us for our next meeting on Tuesday, September 22.

Six members of Bridgers Toastmasters Club met on September 8, 2026. A former guest came back for a visit and helped as our timer. Tonny appeared on the large wall screen via Zoom and was the Toastmaster in charge of our meeting. The meeting theme was "a letter to my younger self." Lisa was the grammarian and gave us "growth" as the word of the day. Terry gave a speech about "Helping Therese Plan her Estate" with a warning to keep important legal documents in a place where they can be found. We heard five table topic speeches assigned by Robin. Tonny was voted Best Table Topic Speaker. When Tonny was told that he had everything he ever wished for, he explained that he wanted to see people grow. We can plant the seed and cultivate others' growth as they discover their talent. Come and join us at our next meeting on Tuesday, September 15.

Our Bridgers Toastmasters had four members and two guests attend the meeting on September 1, 2026. We are back indoors at the St John's room in the English Language Centre at Global Gathering Place. Our dynamic Robin San Juan was the Toastmaster. Our word of the day "conscientious" was somewhat difficult to pronounce but fittingly described Robin's diligent time management and enthusiastic introductions. Instead of hearing a speech, we asked our Table Topics Master, Lisa, to give two sets of topics to everyone. After hearing nine wonderful mini-speeches by attendees, Terry's speech was voted best table topic. Terry told us how he mistakenly signed a contract in October 1969 to enrol in an airline training course. After failing to make any instalment payments he received collection letters demanding payment. After he reluctantly paid what he owed for the course, Terry diligently studied the course material. Although the course never led to a job, Terry is grateful for learning how to type and fondly recalls attending classes in Atlanta, Georgia. We were happy to see former member, Vic Punia, return as a guest. Another guest came to practise speaking English. He spoke English very well as he answered two table topics questions. James was our quizmaster with very good question to see if we were listening as well as he was. Bridgers Toastmasters Club meets next Tuesday on September 8. You are welcome to attend via Zoom the way James did.

Bridgers Toastmasters had an outdoor meeting on August 25, 2026. Our theme was: Be ahead of the curve, which means to be one of the first people to change to a new idea or way of doing something that later becomes generally popular. Terry was the Toastmaster and also gave a speech explaining Quarterly Income Tax Instalments. Tass was Table Topics Master and timer. Her topics were challenging but fun as we learned a lot about each other. James was General Evaluator and gave a toast. Our next meeting is back indoors at Global Gathering Place on 25th Street on September 1.
