We are so excited to welcome Hutsul Drive as our band again this year!!

Hutsul Drive is a Ukrainian party band based in Regina, Saskatchewan, founded in 2024 by Vlad Tsymbal. The band takes its name from Hutsulshchyna, a region of western Ukraine known for its distinctive culture, traditions, music, and vibrant folk heritage.

Hutsul Drive brings the spirit of Ukrainian celebration to audiences across the Canadian Prairies, combining traditional Ukrainian folk music with classic favourites and contemporary Ukrainian songs. Their repertoire is built for one thing: bringing people together to dance, sing, celebrate, and have a great time.

Since forming, Hutsul Drive has performed zabavas, Malankas, festivals, weddings, anniversaries, and community events throughout Saskatchewan. The band has quickly become known for its energetic performances and its passion for sharing Ukrainian music and culture with audiences of all ages and backgrounds.

3 weeks away from the 25th anniversary means that it’s time to start introducing our amazing performers! First up we have Yevshan!

The Yevshan Ukrainian Folk Ballet Ensemble, founded in 1960, is dedicated to preserving and showcasing Ukrainian culture through the art form of dance. Known for its technical and artistic excellence, Yevshan has performed across the globe—including England, Sweden, Ukraine, the U.S., Croatia, Canada, Chile, to name a few, with their most recent tour being to Italy last summer. They have performed at venues such as Disney World and thrice for Queen Elizabeth ||.

Yevshan is under the artistic leadership of Vitali Sorokotiaguine, a choreographer proudly from Ukraine, who since living in Saskatoon, has been recognized for his significant contributions to the dance community in Saskatchewan. Assisting him is Alumna, Lecia Papenfus, who brings dedication and expertise to the ensemble. Together, they ensure that Yevshan remains a leading force in Ukrainian dance both in Saskatoon and beyond.

Yevshan looks forward to many more years of inspiring audiences locally and internationally with their passion for Ukrainian culture, and dance.

We're looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help make this special event a success. Whether you can assist with event setup, welcoming guests, children's activities, stage support, logistics, or cleanup, your time and energy will make a real difference.

Our hearts are with the City of Dauphin, Canada’s National Ukrainian Festival, and everyone else who has been impacted by the flooding. We know how much effort, dedication, and time goes into planning events to celebrate our culture. Wishing everyone a speedy and smooth recovery. Can’t wait to return to celebrate our culture and community with CNUF again soon💛💙
