SaskAbilities is a proud member of Easter Seals™ Canada. Camp Easter Seal is the only completely wheelchair accessible camp facility in Saskatchewan.

With your financial support to Easter Seals™ Saskatchewan, we can continue to offer programs for children with varying abilities in our province. With your financial support to Easter Seals™ Saskatchewan, we can continue to offer the following programs for children with varying abilities in our province. With activities such as horseback riding, swimming, sports, and much more, it provides a fun and barrier free experience to all campers. Camp Easter Seal welcomes campers with varied abilities including those with high medical needs. Summer Fun is an urban day camp program for children and youth with varying abilities offered by the four branches of the Saskatchewan Abilities Council. Activities and field trips within the community provide participants with learning and recreational opportunities that are fun and which help to foster personal development. Adaptive Technology Services is dedicated to applying electronics and computers to aid in communication and daily living. Assessment, installation, and repair services are offered for communication and environmental equipment.

In the latest episode of Shaping Inclusive Communities, host Emily Hurd, Regional Director, SaskAbilities Saskatoon Branch, sits down with Owen Hein from SaskAbilities Adaptive Technology Services to talk about how fast adaptive tech is changing.

October is Disability Employment Awareness Month (DEAM), a time to celebrate inclusive employment and recognize the skills, perspectives, and talents people experiencing disability bring to workplaces and communities across Saskatchewan.

This year’s Canadian theme, “Skills Grow Economies. Disability Inclusion Fuels the Growth.” reminds us that inclusive employment is good for people, workplaces, communities, and our economy.
At SaskAbilities, Partners in Employment works with individuals and employers to create connections, recognize strengths, and build opportunities for meaningful employment.

Throughout October, we’ll be sharing stories, employer perspectives, and activities from across the province that highlight inclusive employment in action.

Because when people have opportunities to contribute their skills and talents, workplaces and communities grow stronger.
