The 2027 BRC Honoraria Grant Program is now open!

With the 2027 theme, Spellbound, announced, artists can begin planning their projects. The first step is to submit a Letter of Intent (LOI) through the grant portal in Burner Profiles.

LOIs are due October 29, 2026, at 5 p.m. Pacific. The Honoraria timeline has moved up by two weeks, giving artists additional time later in the process.

Burning Man Art Department staff will host a virtual Q&A about the grant program:

The Honoraria Program awards $1.3 million annually to fund sculptural artworks on the open playa at the Burning Man event in Black Rock City. The program supports artworks that are interactive, impactful, and visually compelling.

Honoraria Program Q&A Registration
We're offering virtual sessions with Katie Hazard, Director of Art for Burning Man Project, specifically for artists who are interested in submitting a Letter of Intent as described above. Sessions take place the first Thursday of each month, starting on November 5th. RSVP here.
