Ride for Minds: Canada

Ride for Minds: Canada Advocates for improving mental health systems, cyclists fundraising for mental health initiatives, and researchers exploring alternative treatments.

“Jade will be cycling from Prince Rupert, British Columbia to St. John's, Newfoundland between May 6 to August 30, 2024. Support Jade's Ride for Mental Health. Support a cause that impacts every Canadian.”

Jade Dulle has experienced ongoing symptoms of mental illness for the past 8 years. She encountered many barriers when attempting to access provincial mental health services in Saskatchewan. Ja

de was often denied emergency services during various mental health crisis due to long wait-lists and minimal bed capacity. Jade was motivated to improve her symptoms, but she had difficulty finding accessible and adequate support. In 2017, Jade cycled 1300 km through Saskatchewan. Jade's Ride raised $25,000 for the Canadian Mental Health Association - Saskatoon Branch, Inc. Since that time Jade earned her Bachelor of Social Work and continues to see the familiar patterns in the system in her professional life. Individuals that seek help are often denied or wait-listed for services. Jade, professionally and personally, believes that people need accessible, adequate, and efficient mental health services. The goal of Jade's next Ride for Mental Health is to shed light in the systems that are not working in an effort to improve mental health outcomes for others. Jade will be cycling from Prince Rupert, British Columbia to St. Jade will be giving people an opportunity to speak about their personal experiences with their provincial mental health systems. The goal of the ride is to bring to light a common story that affects many Canadians; people reach out for help, but their needs often go unmet. The ride also aims to decrease stigma around mental illness and raise money to support mental health programs, improve current mental health systems, and provide people with hope. All funds raised will go to the Canadian Mental Health Association, which means the funds will be distributed throughout the country. The funds will support many CMHAs at the grassroots level; mental health programs, education, and more. Support a cause that impacts every Canadian.

Important update: Petition e-5166 has been closed due to the dissolution of Parliament for the upcoming election. But this is just the beginning! Once the system reopens, we’ll be sending in hundreds of paper petitions—one for every single session—so the House of Commons will have to read our petition every session for the rest of 2025!

We are going to make waves! We now have an incredible team of passionate and dedicated people behind us, and together, we’re not backing down. Stay tuned—big things are coming!

Ride for Minds: Canada started with Jade Dulle’s dream that mental health care should be universal for all Canadians. In 2017, Jade did her first bike ride across Saskatchewan, raising over $25,000 for the Canadian Mental Health Association. In 2024, Jade once again did a bike ride across Canada from Prince George, BC, to St. John’s, Newfoundland. The bike trip focused on raising awareness for universal mental health care; the bike ride concluded with a petition to the House of Commons to encourage the federal government to work with provinces to create universal mental health care.

During the 2024 bike ride, Jade realized that real change needed to be made and decided, with the support of other passionate professionals, to create a non-profit organization. In the winter of 2025, Ride for Minds: Canada was born. The people at Ride for Minds: Canada have a collective goal of making mental health support accessible and equitable for all Canadians.

Ride for Minds: Canada is still working on getting non-profit status, which has limited some of our funding abilities. So, we are turning to society to help us provide some initial plans, which include art therapy sessions offered free of charge in Saskatoon.

We know times are tough and unpredictable, so any support is highly appreciated and will not go unnoticed.

Thank you for your support, from the team at Ride for Minds: Canada.

We've recently updated our logo, name, and mission statement. Stay tuned for a fundraising announcement, and some new merch soon! Appreciative of everyone who is joining this community.

We are no longer Jade’s Ride for Mental Health but Ride for Minds: Canada. Being the face of an organization is incredibly difficult, and constantly sharing my story has stunted my healing journey.

Instead, my story and ride was the foundation to a much bigger community and change for mental health. It is no longer my story anymore, it is OUR story. So excited to see where this exciting change takes us.

In 2021, I had a severely traumatic incident happen to me. Afterwards, I had symptoms of relational- like post traumatic stress disorder whereby I could not be close to my friends, family, or be in romantic relationships.

Already having relational troubles from my adoption, this made having relationships almost impossible. There were many other symptoms too which made life very challenging to navigate. In October 2023, I received ketamine treatments for ptsd. In combination with psychotherapy, it made me almost symptom free.

Every month, I go to the linden medical clinic to receive a booster. My symptoms are going to be with me forever, but the ketamine infusions allow me to live my life and have close relationships. After about a month the symptoms come back. Once the symptoms return, I go for a booster and they disappear. I will most likely need to get these treatments for the rest of my life.

Why aren’t ketamine infusions covered by the government? It saves many lives. It saved mine, and I will fight to get this covered as well! Healthcare is free, so adequate mental healthcare needs to be FREE as well.
