Sometimes mission is best understood through the eyes of others πŸ’™

A supporter from Canada wrote to Br. Blaise MacQuarrie, OMI with a simple message of gratitude thanking him for his work of building homes for families in need 🏠

Dear Brother Blaise!
Thank you very much for
your Christmas letter! I am sure
glad you don’t have to make
that long journey to the post
office anymore. Instead, you are
building yet another home!
YOU ROCK, Brother Blaise!
A while ago I cut out your
picture where you are standing in front of a truck … shovel and
pickaxe in hands! That picture is in my prayer book of psalms.

Think of MAMI as a bridge πŸŒπŸ’™

A bridge between people who want to help, and mission communities where that help actually makes a difference.

That can look like school supplies arriving in a classroom πŸ“š
Or clean water being made available in a community πŸ’§
Or support reaching a parish or outreach program β›ͺ

This bridge can also looks like prayer πŸ™, encouragement 🀝, and people choosing to stay connected to mission life in a real way.

MAMI is how everyday people become part of something much bigger. MAMI is one project, one community, one act of support at a time 🌿

Inspired by St. Eugene de Mazenod, we begin this week with a reminder that steadiness is type of strength.

Not every moment of life will feel that things are shifting, growing and are happening yet these consistent steps build over time to fully see what has been laid in your path by God's watchful hands.

We must remember to continue showing up, to remain faithful in small things, and to act with integrity. This is how great work grows.

This week begins with steady hearts and simple commitment to what matters πŸ’™πŸ™

When crisis hits, response matters πŸŒ§οΈπŸ’™

Families affected by floods and emergencies around the world have been able to received support to rebuild, recover, and regain stability.

MAMI is unique as the Oblates are on the ground working with the people with what is needed in their daily life.

Faith in action shows up when help arrives right when it’s needed most 🀝🌍

In 2025, MAMI-supported projects reached communities across the world πŸŒπŸ’™

An incredible $2,212,760.33 was allocated to projects across the world 🌍 including Canada, Kenya, Peru, Haiti, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Madagascar, Pakistan, and the Philippines. Each project brought along unique needs, stories, and daily realities.

In Kenya, there were boreholes, schools, parish support, and women’s programs πŸ’§πŸ“š
In Peru, families received housing support and care, along with assistance for hospitals 🏠
In Sri Lanka, emergency response supported communities after flooding 🌧️
In Canada, outreach, reconciliation work, and care for elders continued close to home 🀝
And in many other countries, education, formation, and practical support helped communities move forward 🌿

Different places. Different needs. One shared mission. The Oblate Mission!

Even at the age of 74, Fr Robert Laroche's philosophy remains, β€œI am here
to serve and not to be served.”

Fr Robert, OMI will be startinga new misison journey in Kenya!

At 74 years old, he will be working with young men in formation, walking alongside them as they discern religious life and prepare for their future ministry. His new role will act as an elder and grandfather image to the young men in the formation ministry in Kenya.

With Fr Robert's story we are reminded that mission is not only found in large moments, but also in the quiet example we give through everyday acts of service.

Oblate Mission work does not happen alone.

Behind many schools, parish programs, outreach efforts, and community projects are people who choose to support that work in different ways πŸ’™

The Missionary Association of Mary Immaculate helps make those connections in communities, with the poor people around the world possible.

MAMI supports the Missionary work of the Oblates of Mary Immaculate by helping people stay informed, engaged, prayerful, and connected to missions taking place around the world 🌍

Whether someone offers prayer πŸ™, encouragement 🀝, or financial support, each contribution becomes part of something larger which is helping mission communities continue their work day by day.

MAMI is one of the ways people can walk alongside mission from wherever they are 🌿

Every new day holds opportunities to live with purpose.

When we remember the spirit of St. Eugene de Mazonod we remember that in the small tasks that fill our time, we can bring space for care, intention, and kindness.

Living with purpose is not separate from daily life. Purpose filled mission is lived through how we respond, how we serve, and how we remain present to others.

We begin this week ready to notice those opportunities and respond with generosity πŸ’™πŸ™
