Saskatchewan craftspeople produce so many interesting and unique types of pottery and clay artwork. We are thrilled to carry pieces by more than 30 ceramic artists in SCC Fine Craft Shop! We've been sharing these informational posters about craft mediums, reusing designs from a past SCC showcase. However, since they were written with a particular collection of work in mind, the fibre poster we shared last week inadvertently excluded some very popular techniques: rug hooking and felting! Hey, juried SCC members — You should join us as a marketer at the 3rd annual Craft Is… Fine Craft Market!

There are several reasons we encourage you to apply:
• In response to marketer feedback, the event is one-day shorter than past years (Friday to Sunday).
• We have discounted our booth fees this year. Marketers who apply before May 30th save $100!
• The market has built-in draw, as it’s held in tandem with Art Now Fine Art Fair, which is celebrating its 11th year in Saskatchewan in 2026.
• This year we’re back in Saskatoon, where the SCC has an established customer following and where the market was held once before.
• We can only improve our programs if members take part in them!

Fibre is a very versatile medium. We carry a huge array of fibre work in SCC Fine Craft Shop, including hand woven tea towels, eco-dyed socks, needle felted animal sculptures, embroidered moccasins, and appliqué magnets, to name just a few! As part of our Shop expansion, we've recently welcomed more than 20 new artists and craftspeople into SCC Fine Craft Shop! Here are just a few of the talented folks whose work is now available in store.

Dale Boan — Photography on aluminium, various sizes, with stands. $45-$230.

Emily Gillies, Spirit Weaver Studio — Tote bags and rugs, handwoven and machine and hand sewn, various sizes, bags incorporate repurposed materials. $149-$449.

Sherry Luther, Penny Candy Jewellery — Earrings, vitreous powder enamel fused on copper. $50-$55.

Jaynie Himsl — Fibre art mounted on wooden panel, hand painted fabric, applique, free motion stitching. $125 each.
