Right to Skate Saskatoon Nonprofit dedicated to connecting youth and marginalized communities with skateboarding. Active in Saskatoon since 2012.

We offer summer camps, lessons, and are pushing to open an Indoor Skatepark in Saskatoon We help youth from low-income families access skateboarding. We host skate camps, lessons, and provide programming for other organizations. We host q***r and women's skate meetups. Former operators of the Saskatoon Indoor Skatepark.

What’s up in Davidson, Saskatchewan? Meet our program partner Davidson Skatepark Committee!

The Davidson Skatepark Committee have impressively raised $230,000 out of their $300,000 goal for a permanent outdoor skatepark. They serve a surprisingly large number of young skaters in the small town of 1000, proof that this push will have a large and lasting impact. In the past their programs have specialized in foster care youth and they even organized FASD training that our Saskatoon team still utilize. Learn more:

“The group was established in 2019 and the executive committee that does the main organizing and fundraising is 5 local Davidson women. Of the 5, 2 are original founding members of the committee.

Eric and Kyle are the main skateboarders that directly volunteer with this committee, and youth skaters have helped out with some of the fundraisers such as collecting and sorting recycling, or working at the community markets we host. There are about 10 other community members that the Davidson Skatepark Committee regularly shoulder taps to help with bigger events.

We aim to host events that are usually low cost and family friendly. We do annual raffles, biannual pizza and chocolate fundraisers, regularly apply for grants, host monthly bingos, work at community fundraising bbqs, host two big markets in May and June, bartend weddings or cook supper at a variety of community events in collaboration with other fundraising groups, and have put on the supper, b**r gardens and entertainment on the Friday of the last 4 Davidson Days community weekends in June.

Since the group believes in creating community connection opportunities, the group supports local skate camps by applying for grants to cover the costs of facility rental and collaboration with Right to Skate.

We were the group that Davidson Riverbend Coop chose with this year for Fuel Good Days and we are hoping to do a slightly bigger fundraising evening out called “Banger Bingo”

on Saturday, October 17. We are hosting bingo every month and looking forward to collaborating with a local community theatre group to put on a meal and bar services at their production in early December”.
