Since the summer of 2021, Cakes for Kids – Saskatoon has been honoured to serve our community by providing birthday cakes to children who might not otherwise receive one. Over the years, we have been able to donate over 250 birthday cakes, made possible by the incredible generosity of 83 volunteer bakers who gave their time, talent, and hearts to help make children feel celebrated on their special day.
Being part of so many birthdays, smiles, and moments of joy has meant more to us than words can express.
At this time, however, we need to take a step back from operating the program. Rachel is currently navigating some personal matters and isn’t able to take on additional responsibilities, and Jessie is preparing to welcome a new baby very soon. Because of these life changes, we feel it is best to pause operations.
Cakes for Kids – Saskatoon will be officially shutting down operations as of February 1, 2026.
We are hopeful this step back may be temporary, but as life often does, it will guide what comes next. If there is anyone who may be interested in running the program on our behalf - either temporarily or permanently - please reach out. We would love to see this work continue if the right person or group feels called to carry it forward.
To every volunteer who baked a cake, donated supplies, shared our posts, or supported us in any way: thank you. You truly made a difference. You helped create joy, dignity, and celebration for children on their birthdays, and even if you never saw the impact firsthand, please know that it mattered deeply.
