Last night 2 of us did a driving patrol. We handed out several bagged lunches outside SPH, stopped at a several encampments, as well as stopping for people walking. As it was getting late, we dropped off what we had left at the CUMFI/STC fire.
As a side note I’d like to mention that most of the encampments we stopped at were clean and tidy. This is often our experience. No mess as is often reported.
As always, we visited and had some laughs. ♥️

CONTAINERS NEEDED - CLOTHING DEPOT
Hello Saskatoon! The Clothing Depot needs reusable containers with tight fitting lids that can hold around 500ml (or more).

We use these containers to divide up large jugs of liquid soap (laundry, dish, hand, & stain removers). More containers will help us provide a better selection of soaps to the community.

Thank you.

Yesterday afternoon 2 of us handed out sandwiches, fruit, muffins, juice and water behind PHR. We also had shampoo, conditioner, soap packs, toothbrush, toothpaste and floss packs as well as care packs containing wet wipes, bandaids, alcohol swabs, Kleenex, condoms, chapstick and mini flashlights. We had feminine hygiene, socks, puzzle books, notebooks, pens and pencil crayons. People are always looking for ways to deal with stress and enjoy colouring, drawing and puzzle books. We spend our money on all of these things because they are meaningful to the people we serve. We have conversation and fun joking around with our relatives on the street not only because we enjoy it but because too often they get ignored, glared at or spoken to disrespectfully. We go out to provide necessities but also to show people that they matter and are deserving of kindness, empathy and respect like everyone else.
