And the day we all dread is here. The night where animals in our northern communities have absolutely no chance in this weather. I head up tomorrow to remove a van full of dogs, and I have messages and messages of people asking me to take their strays in their yard before they freeze, but I have no room. The guilt we feel when this cold hits, and we have to leave animals behind is like no other.

Rest easy to the sweet souls we couldn’t save from this cold. 🌈🌈

From a nervous pregnant stray, to a happy dog at the vet, to a new momma on her LAST litter. ✨✨

This silly girl was rescued from a Northern SK community with the help of North of 54 Front Line Rescue and some locals. This morning, she gave birth to her last litter - 6 healthy babies. She is a PRO when it comes to being a mom. Making it quite evident she has done this before but she will never have to again.

This sweet momma got to have her babies in a safe and warm place because of Running Wild Rescue. We can’t thank you enough for stepping up for this mom when no other rescues could! They said yes on Saturday, and on Sunday she had 10 healthy babies.

We got a call about a momma and babies living in a c can at the dump. Thank goodness for Infinite Woofs Animal Rescue Society stepped up to bring these babies in. I am so happy to say they are safe, and mom is learning how to be a dog and trust again.

However, when the local resident went to go pick up momma and babies, they found this sweet girl fighting to stay warm. Without a second thought IWARS said bring her along and we will figure it out. While out in the SK cold, her little body was in fight or flight and once she got to safety, her body settled and she passed away in a warm home and surrounded by love. I’m sorry we couldn’t save you, rest easy sweet Daphne, your loved more then you could ever know. 🌈🌈

It’s been a busy busy few weeks for Paws of Hope as we helped move over 40 dogs from Northern SK and into safety. Many many of these dogs are requiring significant medical help. Temperatures will be at -19 before windchill starting next week. Some of these babies would not have survived!

Unfortunately sweet Valora did not make it despite everyone’s best efforts. 🌈💕

🚨🚨 Red Deer to Edmonton ride needed ‼️

This soon to be momma has an opportunity to have her babies in a safe and loving foster home. The only thing that is stopping her is a ride from Red Deer to Edmonton on Monday.
