The SFNWA is proud to welcome Darlynn Lavallee to the team!

"Tรขnisi! My name is Darlynn Lavallee, granddaughter of late Alfred Lavallee and Joan Pratt from Piapot First Nation, and late Virginia Whiteman from Standing Buffalo Dakota Nation. I am still blessed to have my grandfather Richard Amyotte from Katepwa. I have a background in environmental systems engineering, with a focus on energy, water, and land sustainability. My goal is to help First Nations strengthen long-term resilience through strong operational plans and practical, community-driven solutions. I believe the best work happens through collective effort, curiosity, and staying grounded in the people we serve."

Today is Red Dress Day. A day to honour and remember Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls, and to reflect on the ongoing need for awareness, justice, and change.

Ashley Callingbull is the keynote speaker for the 2026 SFNWA Conference & Trade Show. Ashley isnโ€™t just a recognizable face; sheโ€™s a powerful, grounded, and deeply impactful speaker. When she takes the stage, she brings authenticity, lived experience, and a message that resonates far beyond the moment. She speaks on identity, resilience, accessibility, and the strength of Indigenous communities in a way that immediately connects with people and stays with them long after.
