This weekend, Head Instructor Kaylee, CPDT-KA and SSD Weston had the privilege of attending the 2026
Canadian Police Canine Association Trials here in Saskatoon.
What an incredible opportunity to experience the dedication, training, teamwork and skill that goes into developing police canine. It was an amazing experience to see these highly trained teams in action and learn more about the important work they do in our communities.

We were also incredibly happy to connect with Ned's Wish, a Canadian charity dedicated to improving the quality of life of retired police and military working dogs by providing financial and educational support for their medical care. Their work is a wonderful reminder that a working dog’s service doesn't end when their career does. These incredible dogs deserve a comfortable, healthy and well-supported retirement, too.
The folks at Ned’s Wish were even kind enough to send Weston home with some goodies! Needless to say, Weston is very proud to now have his own little retired police K9 souvenir at home. 🐾

We are so grateful for the opportunity to build relationships with organizations that share our commitment to supporting working dogs throughout every stage of their lives. We look forward to continuing to learn, connect and contribute to the incredible working-dog community around us.
A huge thank you and congratulations to the
Saskatoon Police Service, Saskatoon Police K9 Unit, and Canadian Police Canine Association for an incredible weekend celebrating the dedication of these remarkable canine teams.
And, of course, Weston would like everyone to know that he is the newest member of the K-9 unit... JUST KIDDING! He was just happy to pose for photos!

🍁 Happy Canada Day from all of us at Samroo Service Dogs! 🇨🇦

Pictured is SSD Weston ready to celebrate with his Retrieving Royal Pet Gear Canada Day Bow Tie

As you celebrate, don't forget to keep your canine companions safe:

🎆 Skip taking your dog to fireworks displays, many dogs find them overwhelming.
🏡 Create a quiet, comfortable space indoors with the TV, fan, or music on to help mask loud noises.
🚶 Exercise your dog earlier in the day before festivities begin.
🚪 Keep doors and gates securely closed when guests are coming and going.
🧩 Provide a frozen enrichment toy or chew during the evening to help keep them occupied.

Have a safe, fun, and dog-friendly Canada Day! ❤️🤍

Last weekend, Samroo Service Dogs’ Head Instructor Kaylee Kucher, CPDT-KA, and SSD Weston had the opportunity to attend the Behaviour in Practice Conference, presented by the Saskatoon SPCA.
Continuing education is an important part of our commitment to providing ethical, evidence-based training and the highest standard of service to our clients and their dogs. We're grateful for the opportunity to learn from industry professionals, connect with fellow trainers, and bring new knowledge back to the Samroo community.

Thank you to the Saskatoon SPCA for hosting such a valuable event!

We’re excited to announce that Samroo Service Dogs will be attending Sask Pet-a-Palooza this June as a vendor!

In collaboration with Retrieving Royal Pet Gear we’ll be offering a collection of stylish pet accessories including collars, leashes, bow ties, and bandannas.

Every purchase helps support a greater purpose — 100% of proceeds from gear sales will be donated toward the continued development of Samroo Service Dogs and our mission to build Saskatchewan’s future in service dog training and accessibility.
