Every year, the EQSS invites friends old and new to share an evening that celebrates the q***r and ally communities at the Edwards School of Business. Share a delicious meal with us as we learn from and with each other about what it means to be q***r in the prairies, as we put the PROUD in , and to look back on the past year and see all of the positive changes we have had a part in. 🏳️🌈🙌
This year, we are honoured to be joined by Valerie J. Korinek as our keynote speaker. As the A.S. Morton Professor of History at the University of Saskatchewan and an
elected Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada, Valerie is an expert in gender, sexualities and cultural history. She is the author of Prairie Fairies: A History of Q***r Communities and People in Western Canada, 1930-1985 which has won a series of national and provincial awards, including the Canadian Committee on Women’s and Gender History Best Book Prize (2020), and the Best Book from the Prairie Region, from the Canadian Historical Association (2019).
