Fireweed Artisan Boxes

Fireweed Artisan Boxes Fireweed provides a distribution channel for goods produced by young, Indigenous artisans & entrepreneurs.

We have delivered over 600 boxes throughout Canada and returned over $50,000 to Indigenous makers and entrepreneurs who supply the gifts. Fireweed Artisan Boxes are subscription boxes that bring the work of young, Indigenous entrepreneurs to people across Western Canada who want to support Indigenous people and participate in Reconciliation. Throughout the year, we offer a box full of unique, crea

tive expressions of Indigenous culture. The package will include information on the artisans, their families & communities, the cultural significance of the product or their production process.

After several years of curating and sharing Indigenous talent, artistry and effort, Fireweed Artisan Boxes is ceasing operations. Our initial goal was to provide a retail connection for Indigenous artists and business owners who were affected by closures and event cancellations during the pandemic and we feel that we accomplished that.
We introduced thousands of people to hardworking, creative Indigenous artists and entrepreneurs
We shared the stories of Indigenous culture relating to the art and products in Fireweed Artisan Boxes
We created a market opportunity for makers and businesses that wouldn't have otherwise existed
Today, tourist attractions are up and running, powwows are scheduled and maker fairs are everywhere. Together, we helped bridge the gap that the pandemic created. We couldn't be more grateful for your trust and support.

Fireweed is one of the first plants to grow after a forest fire. It brings beauty and hope to a ravaged landscape. When the other plants re-establish themselves, fireweed isn't as common but there's always one or two plants that remind us of the vibrant field of color.

We hope that you'll look for our suppliers and continue following them on social media. We also hope that you'll seek out new Indigenous artists and entrepreneurs to support.

The bravest, most beautiful wildflower.

As the name suggests, fireweed is one of the first species to show itself following a wildfire. It plays an important role in the forest reclamation cycle, and is a plant with many uses.
