🌺🌴 Aloha, Saskatoon! Our Filipino Seniors Hawaiian Party Was a Blast! 🌴🌺

Last Sunday, The Filipino Seniors brought the tropical spirit of the Philippines right here to Saskatoon as our beloved Filipino seniors gathered for a vibrant, laughter‑filled Hawaiian‑themed celebration.

Colorful leis, island music, dancing, games, and the warmth of bayanihan made the room feel like home — because when Filipinos come together, the joy follows.

And just like we say back home…
🇵🇭✨ “It’s more fun in the Philippines!” ✨🇵🇭
— and our seniors proved that the fun, the energy, and the community spirit live on wherever Filipinos gather.

🇵🇭🇨🇦 Maligayang Araw ng Kalayaan!!

Today, we join millions of Filipinos around the world in commemorating the 128th anniversary of Philippine Independence — a day that honours our ancestors’ courage, resilience, and unwavering fight for freedom.

Here in Saskatoon, this celebration carries a deeper meaning. It is a reminder of the journey of every Filipino who left home, crossed oceans, and built a new life in Canada while carrying the spirit of the Philippines in their hearts.

As we raise our flags today, we celebrate not only the freedom won in 1898, but also the freedom we live today — the freedom to dream, to build, to belong, and to uplift one another as a vibrant Filipino community in Saskatchewan.

To every Filipino family, worker, student, newcomer, and long‑time resident: Your presence strengthens the cultural fabric of Saskatoon. Your resilience reflects the very spirit of Araw ng Kalayaan.

From the Filipino‑Canadian Association of Saskatchewan, we celebrate our history, our people, and our shared future.

Every year, we celebrate Philippine Independence Day — a reminder of the bravery of our ancestors who fought for freedom.

But today, we also honour a different kind of courage: the courage of every Filipino who left home to build a new life in Canada.

For many, moving here meant starting from zero — new country, new culture, new challenges. It meant leaving behind family, comfort, and everything familiar all for the hope of a better future.

Yet wherever Filipinos land, we rise. We work hard. We build community.

ARAW NG KALAYAAN REMINDS US:

Freedom is not only a moment in history — it is the everyday bravery of Filipinos choosing to begin again.

Join us tomorrow, June 7 from 1-2pm at Civic Square to celebrate the strength of our kababayans with Performance by .yxe and Filipino Heritage School.

Our event won't be possible without the support of Aureo' No Frills! SALAMAT PO!
