The impact that rumors have are significant.

Rumors make us doubt who we are.

Rumors make us scared to enter rooms, out of fear of what others think of us.

We second guess whether or not we can overcome these accusations and rumors that impact our reputations.

Reputations. Reputations are just what other people think; a thought process of others that is out of our control.

What can we control? Our character and attributes that makes us who we are as a person.

We don’t always have the opportunity to tell everyone our side of the story. Don’t let that get you down.

The people in your corner will always show up. Be you. Let your character tell the story!

“Speak your truths and be your true self. Your character will outlast the rumor mill designed to taint your reputation. Keep taking up space, hold your head high and walk into those rooms!”

~ Lindsey McDaid- SWIP Board of Directors

🚨 We Want to Hear From You!

Saskatchewan Women in Policing is exploring an exciting new project, and we're looking for input from those who know our profession best - our members, supporters, and followers.

When the public thinks about women in policing, they often see only a small part of what we do. The reality is that sworn officers and civilian professionals alike play vital roles in serving our communities every day.

As we explore ideas for public service announcements and potentially even a television series, we want to know:

▪️What stories should be told?
▪️What aspects of policing deserve more attention?
▪️What misconceptions would you like to see challenged?
▪️What roles, experiences, or behind-the-scenes work does the public rarely get to see?

Whether you're a sworn officer, civilian member, retiree, family member, or supporter, your perspective matters.

Share your ideas in the comments or send us a message. Together, let's showcase the many faces of policing beyond the badge.

Your voice could help shape how these stories are told for years to come.

Good luck to Cst.Ruthven and Hektor during their training - another legendary woman in policing levelling up! 🔥

Meet the newest four-legged member of the Estevan Police Service 🐾

Const. Katelynn Ruthven and her new partner Hektor are beginning their journey as EPS’s newest K9 unit duo.

Over the coming months, the pair will complete extensive K9 training together, preparing Hektor for an important role supporting frontline policing in our community. Once trained, Hektor will assist with tracking, searches, officer safety, and more.

At just one year old, Hektor still has lots to learn, but we can’t wait to watch this team grow together.

Join us in welcoming Const. Ruthven and Hektor to their new role with EPS!
