Breaking News! The 2SiMS Burn Book resurfaced for another year 👀 Unfortunately for staff, so did the receipts.

This year’s investigation found deadlines being moved with great confidence, follow-ups that vanished without explanation, and several “I’ll send it tonight” promises that got lost in the wind. The long-awaited staff task tracker also remains unavailable to comment for the second year in a row. At this point, we have more documentation of its absence than of its existence.

We also received reports of suspicious behaviour around catered lunches, and the alleged big backs know who they are. The sun may be clocking out a little earlier these days, but the shade at 2SiMS remains fully operational!

Happy October 3rd 😂💞 All jokes over here, and so much love. We really do have a special little crew at 2SiMS, and our humour is our medicine. We work hard, we roast harder, and we’re really grateful to have each other through it all.

October 4 is Sisters in Spirit ❤️ We put together a few public vigils, walks and gatherings happening on and around October 4 for anyone looking for somewhere to be with community, remember our missing and murdered Indigenous women, girls, Two-Spirit and gender-diverse relatives, and honour the people who love and miss them.

This isn’t every gathering, and details can change, so please check with the hosts before heading out. Sending lots of love to our relatives today, especially the families and loved ones who live with this grief and loss every day. We’re thinking of you, and all f our relatives we wish were here.

Today we honour the relatives who never made it home, Survivors, families, and all of our kin who continue to carry the impacts of residential and day schools.

A few folks from our 2SiMS team wanted to share why they wear orange and who they carry with them today. This time is never easy as we remember the ones we’ve lost and the ones who deserved so much more. We send our love to our relatives all across Turtle Island, and we keep doing our best to lift one another up, welcome one another in, and make sure our little ones grow up knowing they belong and that they matter. Take care of yourselves and one another today 🧡

Tomorrow is Orange Shirt Day and the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. Across the nations, folks are gathering to remember the children who never made it home from residential schools and to honour Survivors and families. This day can be heavy for many of us as we continue to live with its impacts. We pulled together a selection of public gatherings happening on September 30 for anyone looking for a place to gather, learn and spend time with one another.

This isn’t every event happening across the country, and details can change, we encourage you to check with the host before heading out for the latest times, locations, and community protocols. Wherever tomorrow finds you, we hope you’re able to move through the day in the way you need. 🧡 We send our love to everyone, big hugs from 2SiMS.
