The U14 Sarnia Brigade added another major highlight to their incredible run this past weekend, dominating their way to becoming BACK-TO-BACK London District Baseball Association (LDBA) Champions.

This group of young men came into the season on fire and kept cooking all summer long. The Brigade capped off a flawless 22-0 LDBA season, stringing together a perfect 18-0 regular season and cruising through a 4-0 playoff run. Over the past two seasons, this powerhouse squad has captured a total of six tournament titles while amassing an incredible 88-21-7 record.

Throughout the tournament, the Brigade combined explosive power hitting with smart situational play, deep pitching, and lockdown defense. Their relentless grit and ability to rise to the occasion proved once again why they stand as the undeniable, deserving champions of the LDBA.

From clutch pitching and timely hitting to dynamic dugout energy, every single player contributed to this incredible run. Congratulations to the entire roster:

Logan Andriash, Boston Bois, Liam Campbell, Nash Core, Cohen Gordon, Gavin Helps, Garret Huber, Sebastian Kahnert, Bryson Large, Gavin Laur, Trevor Marsh, Jack Needham, Mason Portiss, and Everett Sheppard.

A huge shoutout goes to Head Coach Steve Helps and Assistant Coaches Joel Ainsworth, Brent Campbell, Cam Gordon, and Derek Smith, whose guidance and leadership continue to fuel this team's dominance.

Now, the journey continues as the boys gear up to bring that same momentum into Brantford this coming weekend to compete for the U14 AA OBA Championship!

Last night, our Sarnia Brigade 13U HS battled their way to the top and were crowned LDBA CHAMPIONS! 🥇

From the first pitch to the final out, these boys showed heart, determination, teamwork and an absolute refusal to give up. 🔥

A huge congratulations to our players, coaches, parents and entire Brigade family who supported this team every step of the way.

You earned this one, boys! 🏆

From the Coach:
"My name is Aaron Cassetta head coach of the 2027 10u Sarnia Brigade, I have been involved in coaching youth baseball for the past five years, all within the Brigades organization. My coaching experience includes one year helping with instructional baseball, two years as an assistant coach, and two years as a head coach.

Baseball has been a big part of my life. I played competitively from 10U through 16U with the Sarnia Braves, giving me the opportunity to learn the game from great coaches and teammates and develop a strong appreciation for what it takes to compete.

My coaching philosophy is simple: go out, give it everything you've got, and when the game is over, win or lose, leave everything on the field. I want our players to learn and understand the game—not just the physical skills, but the decision-making, teamwork, discipline, and mental side of baseball.

My goal is to help each player become a better baseball player and, in turn, a better person. I want the boys to learn how to work together, support each other, handle adversity, and take pride in their effort and development.

Throughout the winter, my focus will be on developing each player individually and building us into a strong team. When spring arrives, I want these boys to be prepared, confident, and ready to compete against the best competition out there.

Most importantly, I want them to have fun, love the game, and be proud of the work they put in. We will work hard, compete together, and leave everything on the field."
