Kidnapping Scam Awareness 🚨
Scammers may try to frighten you with urgent calls claiming a loved one has been kidnapped and demanding money. These calls are designed to create panic and pressure you into acting quickly.
Remember:
-Hang up and contact your family member directly.
-Verify the situation with Chatham-Kent Police Service or a trusted source.
-Never send money, gift cards or transfers based on a phone call.
-Urgency and secrecy are major red flags.
Talk to your loved ones, especially seniors about these scams. Awareness prevents victimization. đź’™
