The main goal of SCIP is to support and promote the use of our LOCAL Contractors, Trades and Suppliers in the Shuswap. In the past, a large amount of the work was being contracted to out of town businesses, leaving extremely qualified local contractors in our area unrecognized. Over the past 22 years, SCIP has built a good solid name and a strong voice through our Coordinator, Strong Board Leader

ship & (close to) 250 Construction members. We work very closely with other organizations such as EDS (Economic Development Society), Community Futures, Okanagan College, SD #83 & WorkBC. We are also a trusted & respected organization to the City of Salmon Arm, CSRD, NORD, & District of Sicamous. We pride ourselves in donating money towards education in the Construction Trades whenever possible, keeping an open mind to any initiatives that may come up with other groups that we may be able to support. (These ideas are dealt with at the board level which is why it is so important to have strong board leadership.) We have used funds to provide seminars and special events that benefit the members. We also provide the following:
* Local Contractors Directory (hard copy printed & distributed annually)
* User friendly Website to access your Local Contractors, Trades & Construction
related Services in the Shuswap.
* Weekly Bulletins
(Opened Permits, Worksafe BC updates, Provincial and Federal updates etc.)
* Membership networking opportunities (AGM, Golf Tournament etc.) To become a member you may:
