🏊 Lifeguards – Lake Whittaker Conservation Area

➡️ Supervise the pool area and ensure water safety
➡️ Enforce pool rules and procedures
➡️Assist with the daily operation and maintenance of pool facilities
➡️ Weekend availability required

🏖️ Pool Attendants – Dalewood Conservation Area

➡️ Monitoring the pool area and assisting visitors
➡️ Daily operation and maintenance of the campground’s wading pool
➡️ Helping maintain a clean and welcoming pool environment

During fawning season, mothers often leave their fawns tucked safely away in tall grass or brush while they forage nearby.

If you happen to spot a healthy-looking fawn on its own, there's no need to intervene. Mom is likely close by and will return when it's safe.

In partnership with the St. Thomas-Elgin Health Recruitment Partnership, KCCA was pleased to once again welcome students from the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry at Western University to Dalewood Conservation Area as part of their Discovery Week experience.

The evening provided an opportunity to explore the natural beauty of the Kettle Creek watershed, connect with fellow students, and learn more about the outdoor recreation opportunities available in our community.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for a great evening of fresh air, conversation, and time spent in nature. We hope you enjoyed your visit and wish you all the best in your medical careers!

The Kettle Creek Food Truck Festival is this Saturday! 🍦🌭

Join us on June 6 from 11 AM to 6 PM at the Dan Patterson Conservation Area for a day of community fun. With live music, local food trucks, reptiles, birds of prey, and much more, this event begins friends and families together in celebration of the natural beauty of the Kettle Creek watershed! This event is rain or shine!

The 2026 Kettle Creek Environmental Youth Corps is off to a great start! 🙌

For their first event of the season, EYC members helped plant 550 tree seedlings on one of KCCA’s newly acquired properties.

The Environmental Youth Corps is a fun and rewarding way for high school students to earn volunteer hours toward their OSSD while gaining hands-on experience in the environmental field. Along the way, participants build valuable skills, connect with like-minded peers, and gain experience that can strengthen future resumes and career opportunities.

From planning to planting 🌳🌱

During a recent site visit, KCCA’s Planning and Regulations Supervisor, Maisa, had the opportunity to experience our tree planting program firsthand.

At KCCA, learning doesn’t stop at the office door. Rather than observing from the sidelines, Maisa joined the crew in the field and planted a row of trees herself. 🌱

Opportunities like this help strengthen connections across departments and bring a deeper understanding of how on-the-ground stewardship work supports our broader mandate. Every tree planted helps improve water quality, enhances wildlife habitat, and builds a healthier, more resilient watershed.
