Hello to our Explorers, Senior Explorers and Family,
We cannot express how much we have enjoyed our time with you all. Your natural curiosity, desire to learn and grow, and your determination to success have been inspiring.
At this time, after much personal reflection by each of us leaders, we have decided that now is the time for us to step away. We do know that, as there are no other leaders for us, that the group will not be continuing.
We are fortunate to have managed to continue through the pandemic years, and we have endured the loss of leaders through relocation and, unfortunately, the passing of some. However, with recent health event for 1 of our leaders, the aging out of a large portion of our experienced youth, plus the lack of new leadership, we feel that our level of commitment and ability to maintain appropriate activities would be subpar at best. It was never acceptable to us to offer anything but the best experience for our youth.
We will hold on and store the 1st Elgin BPSA items, in the event that in the next few years there is another group of adults that wish to revive the group. We do believe in BPSA as an excellent program for youth, and would be happy to offer advice if any such adult steps forward.
For all our youth, please continue to learn and grow, and know that Scouter Tim, Scouter Rob and Scouter Helena wish you all the best.
