Grounded in Place brings together a selection of works from the St. Thomas–Elgin Public Art Centre’s Permanent Collection, exploring our connections to landscape, memory, and the environments we call home.

Featuring works by Jeff Willmore, Josepha van den Anker, Scott MacLeod, Donna Andreychuk, and other distinguished artists from the collection, this exhibition reflects the many ways place shapes identity, experience, and belonging.

Through diverse perspectives and artistic approaches, Grounded in Place celebrates the rich cultural and natural landscapes that inspire artists and connect communities across generations.

Visit the exhibition and discover the stories, histories, and impressions that continue to root us in place.

🎨 What Does the St. Thomas–Elgin Public Art Centre Do for Our Community?

The St. Thomas–Elgin Public Art Centre is more than a gallery—it’s a place where creativity, learning, and community come together.

For over 50 years, we have:
✨ Presented exhibitions featuring local, regional, and national artists
✨ Offered art classes, workshops, and educational programs for all ages
✨ Supported emerging and established artists by providing opportunities to exhibit and share their work
✨ Preserved and cared for a permanent collection that reflects our cultural heritage
✨ Created a welcoming space where people can connect, learn, and be inspired through the visual arts

As a non-profit organization, every visit, membership, donation, and volunteer hour helps ensure that art remains accessible to everyone in St. Thomas and Elgin County.

Art Lives Here. Thank you for helping us build a creative, vibrant, and connected community. ❤️

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the artist walk-through of Shared Ground at the St. Thomas-Elgin Public Art Centre.

It was a pleasure to hear artists share the inspiration, stories, and creative processes behind their work. These conversations enrich our understanding of the exhibition and highlight the important role that art plays in bringing people together.

We are grateful to and Kim Douglas Harrison for their talent, generosity, and willingness to share their perspectives, and to everyone who attended for your enthusiasm, thoughtful questions, and support of the visual arts in our community.

Shared Ground celebrates the connections that unite us through place, experience, and creativity. Thank you for helping make this exhibition and artist walk-through such a meaningful and engaging event.
