FUN FACT FRIDAY! 🍌🍌 Did you now that bananas are technically radioactive? Bananas, being naturally very high in potassium, consequently have a higher than usual amount of potassium-40, a radioactive isotope. However, you would have to eat over 400 bananas at once to actually be affected by the radiation.

πŸ’ͺ Ever wonder why muscles get bigger after exercise? When you work out, your muscles get tiny little tears in them. Your body repairs those tears by making the muscles stronger and thicker than before! πŸ‹οΈβœ¨Eating healthy foods, drinking water, and getting enough sleep all help your muscles grow. πŸ”οΈ Mount Everest is the tallest mountain on Earth above sea level! Standing an incredible 8,849 meters (29,032 feet) high! Located in the Himalayas between Nepal and Tibet, it’s so tall that its peak reaches into the freezing upper atmosphere. Climbers from all around the world dream of reaching the top, but the journey is extremely challenging because of the icy weather, strong winds, and thin air. πŸŒ¨οΈβ„οΈ

πŸŒͺ️ Ever wondered how tornadoes form? It all starts when warm, wet air crashes into cool, dry air during a big thunderstorm. The different winds begin to spin and twist faster and faster, creating a giant swirling funnel cloud. When that spinning funnel touches the ground, it becomes a tornado! πŸŒ§οΈπŸ’¨

Ever just hear what you want to hear πŸ‘‚πŸΏ? We hear ya, it is actually a vital skill we have to avoid overwhelming ourselves with our surroundings. When our ears send sound signals 🎢 to our brain, our brain gives those sounds meaning 🧠. These meanings help the brain determine what information we hear and what we filter out πŸ”‡. For example, if you are hearing about a topic you care about, your brain assigns higher priority to these sounds, which allows you to hear it πŸ”Š. Often referred to as the "cocktail party effect" 🍸 because of how you can zero in on a conversation when at a crowded party πŸ₯³.
