Community Safety Notice – RR 113, Brosseau (Lac Sante area)
Update:
The family pets have been found and returned to their family.
The Suspects remain at large.
On December 15, 2025, a residence on RR 113 in Brosseau near Lac Sante was broken into between 3:00 and 5:00 p.m.
Items stolen during this incident included a firearm, jewelry, old prescription medications, and approximately $3,500 in cash intended for the purchase of livestock hay. The home was also ransacked and sustained significant damage.
The suspects were discovered by the homeowner’s wife, who then fled out the back of the residence. A thorough search by RCMP was conducted but the suspects were not located.
On January 16, 2026, it is believed the same suspects returned to the same residence at approximately 3:30 p.m. and re-entered the home. During this incident, the homeowner’s wife was seriously injured, restrained, and left on the floor. She is currently in hospital recovering.
During the break-in and attack, two of the family’s beagle dogs ran out through an open door and remain missing. A photo is being shared showing all of the family’s dogs; however, due to the family being in hospital, it is not yet confirmed which two beagles are missing. If anyone in the area sees two loose beagles, please attempt to safely contain them and contact RCMP or report the sighting.
The vehicle believed to be involved in this crime is described as a white Ford truck, which may or may not be stolen.
This incident goes beyond a property crime and involves serious violence. Residents are asked to remain vigilant, report suspicious activity, check on neighbours when possible, and keep an eye out for the missing dogs.

The Government of Alberta is considering an annual watercraft pass to support the prevention of aquatic invasive species like mussels into Alberta waterbodies.
If approved a watercraft annual pass would be required for all watercraft.
“Definition of watercraft if implemented, the annual watercraft pass could apply to any watercraft launching into a waterbody within Alberta. A watercraft is defined as any boat, kayak, canoe, paddleboard, vessel, shipcraft, designed or capable of being used in water but does not include: any inflatable self-propelled water toy that is not being used for navigation in water”

To voice your opinion please complete the survey prior to August 25, 2025.
