🚨 BREAK-IN AT THE BALL SHACK 🚨

*****PLEASE SHARE*****

Unfortunately, St. Paul Minor Ball has once again been the victim of a break-in at The Ball Shack. Big rocks have been thrown at the door and tools have been use to cut the big man door. This is incredibly disappointing and frustrating for our association, our volunteers, and most importantly, our players.

The Ball Shack is a place that belongs to our entire minor ball community. The items inside are there to support our athletes, teams, volunteers, and families. Having to deal with repeated damage and theft is getting out of hand.

We are asking our community to please keep an eye on the Shack and our diamonds. If you see anything suspicious or have any information regarding this incident, please reach out to St. Paul Minor Ball or the appropriate authorities.

We are incredibly grateful for the volunteers and community members who continue to give their time, energy, and resources to make minor ball possible. ❤️🖤

Enough is enough. Further security is in the works so as we navigate through yet another break in, please keep negative comments to yourself. Help us protect what belongs to our kids and our community.

🖤Our diamonds. Our kids. Our community.

What an amazing Provincial championship we hosted here in St Paul - 13U AA and 15U AA!!

The ball diamonds were packed on the July 24-26 weekend as St. Paul Minor Ball hosted the 13U AA Tier 4 and 15U AA Tier 6 provincial championships! St. Paul played host to teams from Athabasca, Barrhead, Black Gold (Beaumont/Leduc), Blackfalds, Bonnyville, Edmonton, Lacombe, and Red Deer as they competed for the provincial championships!

The weekend kicked off Friday with the opening games, a hot dog BBQ and the opening ceremonies. The opening 15U game required two extra innings, a sure indicator of the quality of play that would follow! Thank you to flag bearers Kadence Kully and Ryelle Sundt and Cst. Evan Lamoureux for leading the procession. Thank you to Cadence Bohn for singing “O Canada”. Thank you to Town of St. Paul Mayor Glenn Anderson and to County of St. Paul Reeve Glen Ockerman for your words during the ceremony. Thank you to Jamie Sadlowski for throwing the first pitch. And thank you to St. Paul Minor Ball President Chad Kully for his work as Master of Ceremonies.

Fans were treated to great games all weekend as all players showed the result of the hard work that they have been putting in all season. We were lucky to have great weather all weekend, although this season would not have been complete without one last storm! Luckily it wasn’t anything that a shop vac couldn’t take care of!

Congrats to the Edmonton Angels who claimed both the 13U and 15U championships!

Thank you to all of the players, parents and fans who made this such a great weekend! Thank you to the umpires for their work all weekend in the heat! Thank you to the St. Paul parents and volunteers for all of the extra work in making the weekend a success! And a huge thank you to the Town of St. Paul employees for their work in maintaining and prepping the ball diamonds all weekend!

A huge thank you to Jeremy Scott for being our weekend photographer and doing an amazing job!

A huge thank to Lindsey Starosielskii with Boston Pizza St Paul for working with us and donating umpire meals for the weekend! As well as some amazing prizes!

We definitely look forward to hosting again in the future!

Here is a message from Coach/SPMB president, Chad Kully -

“It was a pleasure to coach the 15U AA team this year. It was probably the most unique team I have coached, as it included players from many different communities (St. Paul, Mallaig, Elk Point, Glendon, Myrnam, Goodfish Lake, Bonnyville) and several that are new to the AA baseball program. It may come as a bit of a shock that we actually only had one player that lives in the Town of St. Paul and our players attend nine different schools!

We started the season off with an 8-2 record in the May/June round of play and were placed in Tier 6. The tiering games were a bit of a struggle but the boys rebounded and came ready to play as the hosts for the provincial championship. They definitely showed that the earlier games in July were not representative of our team. While our season ended with a loss in the semifinal to the eventual champions, the boys can be proud of how they played in the championship weekend!

Thank you to all of the players for your hard work and dedication all year long! I know it’s not easy to get excited for practicing in the arenas, ha! Thank you to all of the parents for everything you did all year, especially the extra work put in to host the provincial championships! Extra thanks to Sophie and Sheldena for all of the organizing you did behind the scenes! And lastly, thank you to Craig and Dustin for helping me lead these young men”!

Congratulations to the 50/50 Winner from our provincial weekend! Thank you to everyone that purchased for your support!

This was well deserved! Our “one eyed bandit” took a ball off his bat in the first game! Made it back for opening ceremonies and played unreal ALL weekend! He looks a little like “Smalls” but played more like “Willie Mays”! Well done Mo, you crushed the weekend! ⚾️👏🏻
