Hope for Dementia

Hope for Dementia Working towards improving diagnosis, treatment & prevention of dementia & providing a better quality of life for seniors and people at risk of dementia.

Hope for Dementia, a division of “Assessment and diagnostic of Dementia” is a non-profit organization working to support the cause of safeguarding healthy brains in our aging population. Hope for Dementia is dedicated to supporting the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of dementia and other cognitive disorders. Alzheimer’s disease, the most common form of dementia, is a progressive, degenerative

disease of the brain which causes thinking and memory to become seriously impaired. Your support will allow us to supply diagnostic tests to people suffering from dementia; to collaborate and conduct research with the best and brightest minds working in this field. We are relentlessly working towards developing innovative methods to treat and possibly cure Alzheimer’s and other age-related diseases and towards increasing public awareness and educating people about the early-warning signs of dementia and other degenerative disorders.

Some memories fade. Some emotions remain.

We know that dementia can affect people of all backgrounds, cultures, ages, and walks of life. It makes no distinction. Yet even when words become difficult to find, music remains. A song can revive a forgotten memory. A melody can bring back a smile. A simple chorus can reconnect us with the people we love. Across cultures, languages, and generations, music remains what brings us together where illness can sometimes create distance.

On this occasion, we invite you to join us for Stories in Song, a free multicultural concert celebrating the power of music to unite communities and keep memories alive. Because even when words fade, music remains.

Staying active, engaged, and connected makes a big difference for brain health! 🧠✨
Over 100 seniors in Québec are benefiting from Hope for Dementia’s Busy Box. Better Brain. Program.
The activity animator at BGC Dawson Community Centre reported that seniors enjoy replaying games because it lets them exercise their memory by recalling rules and strategies. This makes the seniors more confident.

The seniors gave positive feedback. They reported that they are faster and more ‘creative’ when doing word searches or crosswords because their thought processes are less fuzzy.

As a group, they played senior health trivia, gaining new information about health and sharing tips and tricks on how to include a healthier diet and more movement into their daily routine from their peers. 💛
