Happy New Brunswick Day! ❤️🍁
Today I'm celebrating this beautiful province with a heart full of gratitude.
When I moved to New Brunswick from Mexico, I brought with me a dream, my passion for art, and a deep desire to share my heritage while learning from others. Over the years, this province has embraced my work and given me the opportunity to grow as an artist, educator, and community builder. Receiving my Professional Artist Accreditation through ArtsLink NB and the Government of New Brunswick is a meaningful milestone that reflects that journey.
This recognition represents years of creating, learning, teaching, and building community through the arts.
Professional Artist Accreditation helps recognize artists, promotes fair industry standards, and supports the value of creative work.
MUCHAS GRACIAS to the incredible team at ArtsLink NB for your years of advocacy and dedication in helping bring the Status of the Artist Act to life in New Brunswick.
Thank you to everyone who has been part of my journey. I look forward to continuing to create, share, and celebrate the arts in this amazing province.

The Spirit of Gathering

The first time I visited Sussex, I was inspired by its incredible collection of murals. As I walked through the town, I remember thinking how amazing it would be to one day contribute to this beautiful outdoor gallery.

Today, I'm honoured to say that The Spirit of Gathering is now part of Sussex's mural collection.

Inspired by my Mexican heritage, this mural celebrates colour, culture, and community. The central figure is Jade Cuéllar, a conchero dancer from my hometown of Querétaro, Mexico. I captured this image during her visit to New Brunswick, where she shared her traditions at the Menahqesk Powwow and the Día de los Mu***os Atlantic Canada Festival 2025, with Grupo Aztlán. That moment became the inspiration for this art work celebrating identity, and the power of gathering.
Ten days, one heat wave, one surprise rainstorm that soaked us from head to toe, and many brushstrokes later... here it is!
This mural came to life thanks to an incredible community, and creating it alongside my son, Elijah, made the journey one I'll never forget. 🩷

I had a very special experience over the past two days. I’m so grateful to Simonds High School for inviting me to be part of your Multicultural Week.
Together, we co-created “Rebirth” with 40 young artists an artwork inspired by Day of the Dead, featuring glowing sugar skulls, neon colours that come alive under black light, and flowers as symbols of growth, memory, and renewal.
What made this experience special was the beauty of connecting through art, culture, and community, coming together to create something meaningful and shared.

Thank you so much to Sue Pitman for organizing such a beautiful and fun event, and to Connie Culligan for all the support throughout the process. You both made me feel at home!

Grateful to have been part of this meaningful gathering.
Last week, I was invited to share about our Dia de los Mu***os, Atlantic Canada festival and how art connects communities, people, and even countries. For me, this work is about creating spaces where everyone feels included, where culture is lived, not just observed.
Thank you to the Saint John Newcomers Centre for holding space for both celebration and honest conversations. It was an honour to be part of it. Congratulations to all the young artists participating!
