Great Evening Saint John Family and Food Security Army!🫡💖🇨🇦

As most of you know, we take any member of this community who wants a way to give back, into our Family and Army.
We all work together to make sure that our citys struggling parents, seniors, and disabled community members have full dignified meals on their tables as often as possible.

HERE IS THE DILEMMA! And what we have grown to learn and realize...

Our seniors and disabled community members have less access to financial assistance and ability to supplement a healthy income than most. With mobility issues on top this makes getting to the food bank and other food assistance services extremely hard.

Combine that with the high amount of fraud that we are personally experiencing in our Mobile Community Food Pantry, and we have decided to make some changes for now.

8 out of 10 community members we delivering to are parents. A lot are the same ones. Some either dont have kids at all or dont have kids at home.

The 2 changes we will be making moving forward are as follows:

1. Parents with children in the home that need help with food will be limited to messaging the page only between the 8th and the 19th of each month.

2. The ratio for parents to seniors and disabled community members will be limited to 4 out of 10 or 40% of our weekly deliveries. They will also be expected to provide a picture of the childs medicare card that is not expired.

Will be first message is first on the list basis, we wont be holding spots just start messaging 12am on the 8th.

I am so sorry for the inconvenience to the honest people out there but I am trying to be fair, balanced, and a reliable source of food on the table for more seniors and disabled community members.

One of the most inspirational people I have ever met!💖🇨🇦

My heroes in the modern era are people like Jesse, founder of Uptown Fridge. Community driven is an understatement.
I have explained to Jesse my opinion a couple times now and in my opinion he is bringing the community together more than anyone in my lifetime.

He is building community infrastructure between non profits, businesses, and the people of this city!

He is building something that the people he inspires can build off of!

What more evidence do you need that regular community members can decide to help other community members than this?

Watch out for this guy he is legit the real deal and someone I can see this province and maybe country learning about in text books someday!

Love you so much brother for what you are doing for this community and the people of it!

Michael has the energy of a thousand suns. His volunteer team is right there with him, delivering food directly to the doors of people in need. His ability to coordinate donors, drivers, and recipients is admirable. It's a technical skill that I lack, so operations like his are why I'm keeping at the awareness campaign. This guy is the real deal.
