You’re Invited! Come See What’s Happening at GETNB!
GETNB – Girls Exploring Trades New Brunswick, in partnership with Women Building the Future, invites you to visit our training center and classroom!

We’re a few weeks into our very first cohort, and we’re excited to show you what we’ve been working on. Come meet the founders of GETNB and Women Building the Future, connect with our amazing participants, and see firsthand how these women are enthusiastically learning new skills and preparing to put their knowledge to work in the construction industry.

What to Expect

Are you a painter or drywall contractor? Come check out the latest drywall tools from CANAM and see them demonstrated in action. Connect with future tradeswomen, explore new tools, and meet potential additions to your workforce.
Simply curious about what the women are learning? You’re welcome, too! Stop by, tour our training space, meet the participants, and learn more about the exciting work happening at GETNB.

• Hands-on drywall taping demonstrations
• CANAM tool demonstrations

THANK YOU!! SJ Junk Removal

Delivered! 🚚 We just took possession of some gorgeous wooden furniture that’s ready for a makeover and a new home.
Stay posted to watch our Women Building the Future team use their new skills to transform these classic pieces. They definitely don't make furniture like this anymore!

Justin from SJ Junk Removal has been a HUGH supporting of Women Building the Further since I started. He went out of his way to post and pick up furniture then deliver it to our training centre.

A big thank you to Kent Building Supplies for their generous donation of pressure-treated lumber! 🛠️💜 Thanks to your support, our women will be able to build outdoor items just in time for the holidays. We truly appreciate your commitment to our community!

10/17/2026

Proud of our women at the end of week 2 they used the skills they learned to build a small wooden box. They also worked in teams of two. Being able to work together on a project using new skills is a skill in itself.

10/15/2026

Another big shout out to Saint John West Home Hardware Building Centre for another donation of building materials!

10/14/2026

Women Building The Future is well underway for our second week. Look at these women using power tools! Women can build the future.

10/13/2026

After the holiday Monday, our Women Building the Future participants jumped right into Week Two today.
With PPE from Chandler Sales and First Aid training under their belts, they’re ready for another week of learning, building, and growing in the skilled trades.

🦃🍂 WHAT TO DO WITH ALL THAT LEFTOVER TURKEY? 🍂🦃

Thanksgiving dinner was delicious, but now the fridge is full of leftovers! 😋

Here are a few tasty ways to give that turkey a second life:

🥪 Hot Turkey Sandwiches with stuffing, gravy & cranberry sauce
🥧 Turkey Pot Pie for a cozy family dinner
🍲 Homemade Turkey Soup — perfect for a chilly fall day
🧀 Turkey Quesadillas for a quick and easy meal
🥘 Turkey Casserole with leftover veggies and mashed potatoes
🌯 Turkey Wraps for easy lunches
🍝 Creamy Turkey Pasta for a new family favourite

💡 Our tip: Don't forget the turkey carcass! Use it to make homemade broth for soups and gravies.
