Regarding the RockSalt Greenland Weekend, please note the following information:
If you are staying in the Rockwood Park campground, check-in is at or after 2:00pm on Thursday June 4th. If you have booked a shared cabin, the men's cabin is #182 and the women's cabin is #183. If you have a camping spot you have been told your spot, but know that 179, 181 and 186 are our spots.
If you are sharing meals, we will start with dinner Thursday night at 6:00pm, followed by breakfast lunch and dinner through the weekend ending with lunch on Sunday.
The workshop schedule starts Friday at 9am. We will have a morning session on Friday and Saturday from 9-12 and an afternoon session from 1:30-4:30. Sunday will be morning only. There is no rigid schedule and you are welcome to come and go as you choose. All kayaking will take place in Lily Lake, starting from the sand beach to the left of the pavilion. If you want to paddle in the evenings, it is free time, and sunset is 9:08 on Friday.
Rockwood park is Canada's second largest city park, and has many km of trails and forest. You can hike these trails, and I'll also bring three mountain bikes for use during free time that you can use. As well, there are other lakes to paddle in Rockwood park, and there is a great beginner rock-climbing wall. Let me know if you are interested and I can bring equipment for climbing.
If you are not camping, feel free to come by the campsite on Thursday evening so we can all meet. Otherwise, we will meet for the first time Friday morning 9am.
Look forward to seeing you there!
PS, it is forecast to rain on Saturday. 🌦️
PPS, if you haven't already asked me, please let me know if you are short something like spray skirts, life jackets, paddles, or wetsuit etc. I have spares of some things.
