We’re Hiring: Executive Director

Hestia House is seeking an energetic Executive Director to support the strategic implementation of our organization’s vision and mission.

Reporting to the Chairperson of the Board of Directors, the Executive Director provides strategic and managerial oversight across all areas of the organization’s operations, including governance, finance and fundraising, human resources and culture, health and safety, and external relations.

The ideal candidate will bring:
• A minimum of five years’ leadership experience
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Experience supporting teams in high-stress or trauma-exposed environments
• A demonstrated understanding of the complex nature of the intimate partner violence sector
• Financial, operational, fundraising, and partnership leadership experience

This role is suited to a leader who can mobilize resources, support best practices in quality service delivery, and help develop continuous learning pathways for the organization.

💜 An Epic Night at the Ria Mae Concert 💜

Saturday night at the Ria Mae Concert brought together incredible live music, a beautiful crowd, and generous support for Hestia House.

A total of $3,360 was raised for Hestia House, including $1,200 from ticket proceeds and $2,160 from the 50/50 lottery.

💗 A special thank you to AREA 506 for partnering with us and helping turn a shared community experience into support for women and their children.

💖 Heartfelt thanks to Ria Mae and Catherine Kennedy for their support and for an unforgettable evening of live music.

🩵 Today We Wear Teal 🩵

Today, we wear teal to support survivors of sexual violence, raise awareness, and show a shared commitment to creating safer, more supportive communities.

“Wear Teal Day – Listen. Believe. Support.” was launched by The Willow Centre in Charlotte County as part of New Brunswick’s Sexual Violence Awareness Month each May. The month-long initiative leads up to Wear Teal Day at the end of the month, encouraging individuals, organizations, and communities to wear teal in support of survivors of sexual violence.

On April 29, 2026, the Honourable Lyne Chantal Boudreau, Minister responsible for Women and Gender Equity, signed a proclamation recognizing May as Sexual Violence Awareness Month and designating May 29 as Teal Day in New Brunswick.

💜 Many women experiencing domestic violence also experience sexual violence within abusive relationships. At Hestia House, our support includes creating safe, grounding spaces where women can pause, breathe, and reconnect with themselves as they move forward.

Support matters, and no one should have to navigate violence alone.

Swipe left to view community-based sexual violence support services available across New Brunswick. CBSVS provides free, confidential, trauma-informed services for individuals aged 16+ who are directly or indirectly affected by sexual violence.

💜 Continued Generosity from the PSAC SJ Women’s Committee May Day High Tea 💜

🌸 What a wonderful surprise! The support from the PSAC Saint John Regional Women’s Committee May Day High Tea has grown even further.

We received a matching contribution from a regional PSAC union, bringing the total donation to Hestia House to $2,610.

💜 An Incredible 4th Annual Memorial Bruce Bastarache Sr. Fishing Tournament 💜

The 4th Annual Memorial Bruce Bastarache Sr. Fishing Tournament brought together an incredible community and its biggest turnout yet. The top three catches measured an impressive 16¼ inches, 17⅞ inches, and 19⅞ inches. Congratulations to Jenna Durelle for catching the longest trout!

We are truly grateful for the $2,345 donated to Hestia House through this year’s tournament.

💗 A heartfelt thank you to the organizers, Bruce Bastarache, Angie Bastarache, Krista Bastarache, and Riley Brennan, for once again bringing the community together through this special annual event.
