Why September Matters for Women's Health

September is the month of routines.

Kids are back in school. Sports teams are starting up again. Book clubs are meeting. Fall fitness goals are back on the calendar.

And if we're being honest, it's often the women in our lives who are organizing it.
They're managing schedules, caring for families, supporting friends, and making sure everyone else gets where they need to be.

This September, let's do something for them.

St. Joseph's Hospital Foundation is raising funds to replace a 10-year-old breast ultrasound machine. Advances in technology over the past decade mean a new machine will provide earlier detection, clearer diagnostic images, and better patient outcomes for thousands of women throughout southwestern New Brunswick, from Sussex to St. Stephen.

More than 12,000 breast imaging and diagnostic procedures are performed at St. Joseph's Hospital each year, and a new breast ultrasound system costs $120,000.

That's just $10 for every woman who will benefit from this care.

What if your book club collected donations instead of bringing a hostess gift this month? What if your walking group turned its steps into support for women's health? What if your workplace, sports team, or social club rallied behind a cause that impacts nearly every family?

Together, we could finish the campaign this month.

Because every woman deserves access to the best possible breast health technology, close to home.

Registration is now open for the 2026 KENT Pallet Build in support of Women's Health at St. Joseph's Hospital located in Saint John, New Brunswick.

Teams of four are given four pallets and four hours. They face off at KENT Saint John East on September 19 to construct and showcase amazing, up-cycled pallet projects. A celebrity judging panel selects the winners, and an online auction gives the community an opportunity to bid on the completed projects to support St. Joe's Foundation. . 💚
