Saint John, The 19th Annual Lancaster Santa Claus Parade got underway on Saturday, November 25, with 39 entries ready to showcase Santa Claus and usher in the Christmas spirit for all the children. This year's parade was an awesome spectacular looking event, all the entries were decorated with love and care, and were worthy of being showcased in the parade.
This event could not take place without the generous support of the City of Saint John, Saint John Police Force, Local 18 Outside works of the City of Saint John, Saint John Fire Department, The CREW of the Parade Committee for the behind the scene work and parade day organizers, the judges for the impartial decisions on the floats and entries, the many businesses and organizations that put in the many floats, the bands, and Santa for giving up their time and efforts to ensure that the citizens and visitors alike had an enjoyable parade.
Every entry in the parade is a winner, both to the Committee and the Spectators alike, we wish we could award a trophy to each and every entry, as each one is deserving. The committee's thanks are extended to each entry, and we are blessed to have you in the parade.
The winners of this years parade are as follows as decided by the independent panel of judges from the community:
Best Cheer Group: Urban Dance Company
Best Music / Live or Recorded: Pandemonium (Steel Drum Band)
Best Uniformed Group: Welsford Fire Department & Musquash Fire Department
Best Large Commercial: Saint John Energy
Best Small Commercial: Evan Young Reality Group
Best Large Non-Commercial: Lorville Trail Riders
Best Small Non-Commercial: Hillcrest Baptist Church
Best School: St. Rose
Judges Choice: Ukrainian Association of Saint John
Parade Marshal Choice: Hamiltion Homestyle Daycare & Seawood Early Childcare Centre
