Aujourd'hui, lors de la Journée du souvenir trans (TDOR), nous marquons une pause dans une réflexion solennelle pour honorer les personnes bispirituelles, transgenres, non binaires et de diverses identités de genre dont les vies ont été tragiquement fauchées par la haine et la violence anti-trans au cours de la dernière année.

Nous pleurons chaque vie interrompue. Nous voyons la profonde douleur portée par leurs familles, leurs familles choisies, leurs ami·es et leurs communautés. Personne ne devrait faire face à la violence simplement pour vivre authentiquement qui iel est.

Bien qu'aujourd'hui soit un jour de deuil, c'est aussi un rappel frappant du travail qui reste à accomplir. En tant qu'organisme dévoué à soutenir les familles et les personnes 2ELGBTQIA+, nous réaffirmons notre engagement inébranlable à créer un Canada qui est sécuritaire, accueillant et qui offre une famille pour toutes et tous.

Nous sommes solidaires. Nous nous souvenons d'elleux.

Pride is here! 🌈It all kicks off this Friday with a flag raising at City Hall and continues with an incredible lineup of events leading up to the Pride Parade on August 16!

We can't wait to see the joy, colour, and community spirit lighting up our streets.

pflag Canada supports the Canadian Medical Association's legal challenge to the Government of Alberta's Bill 26 which bans gender affirming care for those under 18. Healthcare decisions should be made by patients, their families and healthcare professionals, not politicians. We agree the CMA, Bill 26 is " an historic and unprecedented government intrusion into the physician-patient relationship and requires doctors to follow the law rather than clinical guidelines, the needs of patients and their own conscience“
