📢 Monarchs are hiring again. 🦋

Why? Because the commute is... intense.

Unfortunately, Monarch populations have declined by about 90% in the past. Although they've made a partial recovery, they continue to face threats from habitat loss, climate change, and other environmental pressures.

The good news? We can all help keep their migration going. 🧡 Planting milkweed and other nectar-rich flowers, reducing pesticide use, and protecting their habitat are all simple ways to make a difference.

📚 We're excited to welcome you back next week!

ASD-S has a staggered entry schedule. We use transition days to give students entering a new school the chance to become familiar before the rest of the students arrive.

📅 Tuesday, Sept. 8: First day for Grades 1-5 and first day for Grade 6 and Grade 9.

📅 Tuesday, Sept. 8 & Wednesday, Sept. 9: Half of Kindergarten students attend on each day. Your school will let you know which day your child attends.

📅 Wednesday, Sept. 9: First day for Grades 7-8 and 10-12. All middle and high school students are in attendance this day.

Schools with combined grade levels will communicate their own transition plans. For more information, find our District Calendar and Pilot School Calendar on our website: https://asds.nbed.ca/about/school-calendar/
