The Ford government was warned for years about serious problems with OSAP spending at private career colleges.

Instead of addressing those concerns early, the province let the problem grow, then introduced sweeping OSAP cuts that hurt students across Ontario’s public colleges and universities.

Now students are once again being asked to deal with the fallout.

Students should not be the ones paying the price when government oversight fails.

The 2026 Nobel Peace Prize has been awarded to Navi Pillay, the South African human rights jurist who fought against apartheid and dedicated her life to pursuing justice for victims of war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide.

Pillay, 85, defended anti-apartheid activists, presided over the UN tribunal for Rwanda, served as a judge on the International Criminal Court, and became the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights.

Her groundbreaking work on the Rwanda tribunal helped establish that r**e can constitute an act of genocide, a major milestone in international law.

More recently, Pillay chaired the United Nations commission that concluded Israel committed genocide in Gaza. The findings were fiercely rejected by the Israeli government, which also challenged her credibility and that of the commission.

Now, after decades of confronting powerful governments and demanding accountability for human rights abuses, Pillay has been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.

Makes ya go hummmm?!?

How does this Government expect to fill tens of thousands of graduate spots at post secondary institutions when they have slashed OSAP and are currently withholding fair wages and safe working conditions from OPSEU members? Opening up new spots is not enough, we need to support students in accessing education and ensuring high workforce retention through safe and fair professional environments when they graduate!
