MAY 28 | WORLD HUNGER DAY🍽

According to Feed Ontario, from April 1, 2024 to March 31 2025, over 1 MILLION people in Ontario accessed food banks.

In WHAI’s Collective Action Community Change report, food insecurity has been identified by women and gender-diverse people living with/affected by HIV as a debilitating barrier when it comes to accessing HIV prevention, care and support.

This World Hunger Day, WHAI wants to increase service providers’ awareness of the importance of food security to people living with and impacted by HIV, as well as expand and strengthen their referral pathways to include services that provide financial and employment support.

🩺 Across Canada, vulnerable populations continue to face barriers to accessing timely and equitable treatment for Sexually Transmitted and Blood-Borne Infections (STBBIs) such as Hepatitis C, Hepatitis B, HIV, and infectious syphilis.

Delays in accessing prescription drug coverage are a key issue, and we want to hear about the experience of health care providers from across Canada in helping clients to access prevention and treatment.

To collect this input, we are conducting the 'Between the Gaps' study, which is a cross-sectional survey of healthcare providers exploring prescription drug coverage barriers to accessing STBBI treatment [Ethics ID -00503].

📍Please take the survey today and help us bridge gaps in access to STBBI care! 👉 Link here: https://lnkd.in/gapaYMWN

🚨 PRE-SALE EXTENDED UNTIL MAY 31! 🚨

You asked, we listened! We’ve extended the pre-sale for our Supervised Consumption Sites Save Lives t-shirts for one final week.

This merch is available by PRE-ORDER ONLY. If you haven't secured yours yet, you now have until Sunday, May 31 to place your order.

💭 The Story Behind the Shirt:
Supervised Consumption Sites (SCS) began as grassroots, community-led responses to overdose and loss—built by people who use drugs, harm reduction workers, and communities who refused to accept preventable deaths. While Ontario utilizes the term CTS, shifting our language to use "SCS" on this shirt is our way of honouring those origins, the history of advocacy, and the vital community care that continues to save lives today.

Wear your support out loud. These shirts are conversation starters and a direct way to show your commitment to harm reduction.
